Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Made some modifications to my trailer box today. Put lots of things in some little zippered pouches. Also made a webbed strap and buckle release to hold things upright. Heading out next weekend with the kiddo for probably her last camping trip until spring.
Hopefully my 5lb propane tank...
Oof. That sounds like a PITA, but more power to you man! I'm not sure that I would even want to attempt that.
I've been getting a lot of small stuff done on my rig over the last few months.
First was mounting my plano boxes to my roof rack.
There's a sheet of 1/2in plywood in the bottom of...
That's a damn shame. I don't understand why people are intent on flying around on dirt roads. There's no excuse for it.
Super glad to hear you're OK though!
The new X looks super clean though!! Also really glad to see that you've picked up another 1.5 Gen.
That reminds me that I need to...
There's also a piece of software that works like CAD for 8020. I will allow you to design and preview the entire build, and know exactly how long each piece is going to be prior to ordering.

Then, you can even order it pre-cut, then...
I'm a big proponent of using DTP or DT plugs to make things easier to remove/troubleshoot if there's a problem. You could easily hook the compressor up using a dt plug, and make a pigtail that connects directly to the battery. That way, of the switch controller fails, you can quickly disconnect...
Well, there's not really an stupid easy way to do this.
The easiest way I can think of is to run two positive wires to the lights. One comes from the glove box switches, and the other comes from auxbeam relay box.
This **SHOULD** provide two independent power sources for the lights. Mind...
This right here. Yes, your tires are big enough. My current rig had 265/70r16 worn at tires when I bought it. I ran those for two years before replacing them. I never had an issue with punctures or traction. Or clearance.
Edit - I responded without reading any comments or the original post. I...
I carry pretty much all my hand tools in a bucket boss tool roll. This includes my electrical tools, but I lay break those into their own small tool bag. I've not decided yet. For now, they work in the main tool roll.
I'm still working out and refining the tools that I carry.
Most of what I've had to use are electrical tools, as I periodically run into electrical gremlins in my 03 Xterra, as it's almost purely a camping/overland/offroader.
That being said, here's what I currently carry
An assortment of...
They actually have a small one that will do what I need for $5....i need to go and get a tarp for the trailer anyways, so I'll probably just snag one.
All I really need is voltage and continuity checking.
Pretty much what I carry. I also have some compact strippers, Relays, butt connectors, and zip ties. Anybody have any recommendations for a compact multimeter? I don't want to have to keep moving my kobalt meter, and would like to keep one in the tool roll.
Been a while since I've updated the thread. We took Nebula and Gamora out over memorial Day weekend with a group of overland bound members. I towed the trailer in it's final configuration behind Nebula, while my wife drove Gamora. Everything in Gamora worked awesome, especially the new Kenda...
Yup! I have 4 68qt boxes, and two 54qt boxes.
I used to ratchet strap them to the rack, but wanted to try them bolted down. I figure I'll put stuff I don't need to access regularly up there.
Chain saw, tools, shower, etc.
