Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Not true anymore.
The R52 Pathfinder (the last generation that shared the platform with the Frontier and Xterra) was 4 wheel independent. Both the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition are independent all around now as well.
Nice! I wish I had the skills/tools/space to pull off a job like that.
Me? I finished up the install of my interior lighting for the trailer.
I got both switch boxes cut and mounted up.
After the last trip I was on, after rolling I to camp in the dark, I realized I needed to add some interior lights to the trailer.
I also added a light to the kitchen box.
Just need get the wiring secured, and the switches mounted to the boxes that are coming on Sunday.
Iv have a blued river dingle which works very well, but I don't know if it does real-time information. I mainly bought it to read abs codes on my old 04 Colorado.
I also have, and carry with me, an elm adapter, along with torque on my tablet, and all my phones. I've used it more for scanning...
Honestly, if mine was doing the same thing, I'd probably feel the same way about it. But, It's an 03 with 150k, and was EXTREMELY well maintained before I got it, and continues to be well maintained.
I'm getting ready to do a huge amount of maintenance to it, including a new radiator, aux...
Both my wife an I love the colors of the rumpl. I like the get out gear blankets ALOT, but it's not quite warm enough. I'm planning on doing some solo winter camping, so I'll likely grab a rumpl for myself. The combination of the two should work well. And the diesel heater.
At 250k,your X is...
How cold will it be when you plan on camping?
I picked up a couple of get out gear puffy blankets, and they're surprisingly warm, but anything below 45 degrees, and I need a little extra. I might try a rumpl in addition to it. Rumpl also makes a double blanket.
Both of these pack down very...
I have 4 of those lights on my trailer, and they work incredibly well to illuminate camp. They're also super cheap. They work way better than the have any right to for how much they cost.
That's rough man. I'm sorry you're having a hard time.
Honestly, sometimes it's easier to just find a group that's heading out, and bring the kiddos with you. That's what I do (my daughter is 6). I've been lucky that I have a buddy who almost always goes with me, with a 7yo daughter as well.
It's a suction cup camera mount that I don't think will come off without peeling paint. :grinning:
I have since started using magnetic oil mounts. But that one just lives there!
And thanks! It's still a work in progress, but I'm loving it so far!
Current plans are to swap the crossbars to...
I'm using a 20A renogy DC-DC that I got on sale for $80. It's worked great so far, but I'm only running a single 100Ah LiFePO4 in my trailer, and we don't have a ton of electrical draw. The largest draw is probably our fridge, or when it's cold, the electric blanket (but we still have about 50%...
Last night, I went to test the DC-DC charging and trailer lights when hooked up to the Xterra (I've been towing it with the truck).
DC-DC charging wasn't working, but then I decided to pop the hood, and check the breaker.... I forgot to close the breaker switch.
And.... The tail lights...
Testing the trailer lights and DC-DC charging in the X tonight. If all goes well, I'm pretty much ready to go this weekend. Just need food, fill the water tanks, and load up clothes.
I even managed to flget the puffy quilts and camp pillows into the RTT, AND get it closed. Not having to setup...
No problem! When I was designing my trailer, wood prices were super high, and was going to be cheaper to build the frame for the box out of 8020. When it came time to actually order materials, prices had changed, and wood was much cheaper, so I went that route.
Just gut some kitchen supplies in pouches yesterday to try and keep the trailer a bit more organized. Gonna test it out next weekend and see how it works.
