Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Sure. And french press is the best way to make coffee too strong for sure. However it is easy, and 48 oz is a lot to make at one time. Maybe make two batches and put extra in a big Stanley.

Well, if you haven't heard, we just got slammed by a wild storm and there has been flooding and mass hysteria and flooding.
The whole scope of this trip is going to be impassible for the next few days. There was sooooooo much rain that I imagine that the route is significantly different from...
48 oz is a lot. I don't think anything else is going to make more at one time. Add more grounds and drink slightly less coffee
4 12 oz cups. Not bad. If that's not enough just make it stronger!

The Planetary Designs 48 OZ insulated french press would work. https://planetarydesign.com/product/table-top-french-press-coffee-maker/
I have one, and have used it for camping with big groups.

Found this YouTube channel recently. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9VhfQi-D-7morDdwjVcJPA
Also, I might get a MochaPot or other espresso type device for camping. I've become addicted to an afternoon espresso...

I use all of the methods.
Via when I'm lazy.
Pourover, Sweet Maria Smart Dripper. Very good pourver method, lets you steep it for a few minutes before dripping.
Pourover, MSR coffee strainer. Very good and quick and easy for small cups. Does get grit in the coffee.
(I use a chemex at home...
The Mr. Heat heaters are not like a regular propane heater so they don't give off CO. They also have a CO detector and shut off so they theoretically won't kill you like a lantern or other propane heater will.
That said, it still sketches me out to have them on in a tent. They do give off a...
I'd get one of the Patriot Trailers from Australia. There are similar ones made in USA, but I don't like the design as much.
What I like is that they are self contained everything you need but the enclosed space. I'd get an awning, and maybe the tent component, but the big thing is having...
These are awesome. My friend made one with cast iron pipe for the base that threads apart to make it slightly easier to travel with. But the functionality of these while burning is unbeatable.
Yo. Sorry for the lack of action. I'm still planning on this.
I still have not been able to get out and scout a route from VC to CC, but I might tomorrow or the coming week. It's been raining a TON here so that means MUD...
Here is the track we take from I-80 at Lockwood to Lagomarsino...
I don't think so. I haven't used mine in the course of overloading. Only rock crawling, and I don't do much of that. I think the advantage you have with wheelbase on your truck will get you over most obstacles. I've seen those Toyotas do a whole hell of a lot with open diffs. If you want to do...
It's popular in winter for obvious reasons. Titus is one way so traffic shouldn't be much of a problem. Definitely stop in the narrows and climb around. It's really cool.

You guys like the Overnighting in VC idea? I mean, night will be COOOOOOOLD outside unless we go down somewhere like Washoe Lake State Park. Even then it would be brutal.
