Planning Its trip to Moab, Utah area

I'll add in most of the routes through the San Rafael Swell area. There are lower elevation roads if it is still cool, and higher elevation roads if it's warmer. The Capital Reef, The Grand Staircase-Escalante, and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell (now kind of a puddle vs. a lake but still a sight)...

    How would you start over?

I would do one of the following: Gladiator 392, first gen Sequoia or an 87-92 Square body Suburban. Love my JKUR, but V-8 baby!

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

In general what you are saying is correct...............there are a lot of folks out there with a lot of disposable income...any hobby will cater to those funds. Hell, I have been an avid golfer since I was 6 years old.......but I don't spent $3k plus on new clubs all the time, this year it will...

K5 Blazer or Gmc for over landing

I had a buddy in college (wealthy family) who drove a 67 Corvette. 427 with 3 2 barrel carbs.........he could never keep it adjusted well, but for some unknown reason, I could. I think that's why we were friends, LOL! Now the SUs on my 240Z......no one could help!

Off road-ability and survivability of $20k teardrops

That is the universal truth, that there is NO PERFECT SOLUTION. We have a Nucamp Tag as well and it works for us. We also have a 180 awning (no walls yet) and that works for the hang out space in all but the worst of weather. We love to be outdoors and used to have a Class C RV.....that...

    Cancelled New Mexico BDR Trip!

Well, my work has scheduled a "retreat" for this week, so I'm reluctantly going to have to pass. Sorry, I was looking forward to this!

    Dual Battery Type

It kinda depends on how you plan to charge it, mixing battery chemistry from type to type is something to pay attention to.

Does it has to be same brand of GMRS radio to communicate?

It's usually fairly quick, a day or two as I recall.

US Rocky Mountain Capital Reef - Grand Staircase trip

Oh, you are going to have a blast! My wife and I went down through that area last year and had SO much fun! Try and stop in Fruita, Ut....and if you can, one night in the campground there in the park. It's super cool, lush (amazingly) and lots of big shade trees.....and get a pie in the little...

    Coming to visit Colorado

You'll want to stick to some on the "lower" elevations at that time, as most or all of the "higher" elevations will still be snowed in until mid to late June. So far this winter we have a good snowpack, so if that continues, the upper passes will take a while to clear out. You may also want to...

Overlanding a little "differently" this weekend...

The really cool thing is that it looks like there is a passenger seat................sending you my cell # now!

    Storage Unit Workshop

How does one get power? All the ones I've ever seen/rented are without....

JK 3.6 Liter - Oil in Air Filter

I like the "try a different gauge" theory.......they WERE all similar at 100 psi, but was it really 100 psi? As simple as a bad gauge that's reading incorrectly? Doesn't address the oil in the filter concern, but it kinda is the "smoking gun" at the moment.

Not exactly new, but back on the radar after some major life changes.

One day at a time and take care of your physical and mental health first! Looks like you are on your way to happier times, congrats!!
