Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I tend to agree with the others above.....do you REALLY NEED two spares? This is something that only you can answer, but you will be dancing around them every minute of every day only for the rare possibility that you'd need it. It's likely another 100 pounds or more depending on the fabricated...
Just try mounting the antenna up a little higher on the bracket where you have it......a little more clear space in all directions will likely perform better......and maybe improve the SWR
I have both of the Wouxun radios in question here. I highly recommend the 1000G. Just because it's capable of things doesn't mean you have to use all that capability. I find it easy to use, love the remote face plate, and the microphone runs off cat 6 cable. I have the main unit mounted under my...
@Michael Is the routing feature going to be Google/Apple maps based? Or will you have the ability to create your own route down various roads/trails? And, if it's able to do the latter, will the selected route "snap to the road"?
Thx
I think being weight conscious is the important thing. You have a plan to reduce when and where possible on mods, and that's great. As far as the camping stuff goes, all you can do is look at everything with a critical eye and if you haven't used it in two or three trips.....do you really need...
Couldn't come at a better time as I am evaluating Gaia (my current format) vs. OnX. I haven't attempted any use of OB1 as it has been missing this functionality.
I am going out tomorrow locally for a few hours.....I intend to try multiple platforms and the CarPlay connectivity and see what my wife and I like/don't like....I have been informed that we need to have that displayed at all times!
Well, that's disappointing.
Anyone have an active discount code for On X Offroad? I think it's time to give it a try before my GAIA subscription is up.
Well, I live about an hour to 1.5 hrs away, so, I may need to join you, LOL!
I have NOT driven that section......I just Google Earth flyovered that area/route. Knowing the zone and terrain around there, I'd guesstimate that you'll be fine.....unless it rains. We have some nasty bentonite clay...
If they are primarily going to use it loaded, the 8.1 isn't going to care. It' likely going to get the same mileage loaded or empty and be way better at dealing with the passengers and load than a 1/2 ton or the Venza. While I haven't specifically had one with an 8.1, I'd love to have...
Hit up the little town of Creede and visit the Fire Station there.......It's entirely inside the mountain in old mining tunnels and is pretty close to to Lake City. The drive from Creede to Lake City is pretty as well.
