  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Mid Atlantic Tn-Ny

Like @John Bishop said...alot of this route is paved. Not sure it lives up their claim of the best unpaved roads from TN to NY. They missed so much in PA I know. It is a beautiful route...but they missed the dirt.

I have lots of threads on the forum about the area the route goes through Central Pennsylvania. Just search my name When I was looking at the route, they missed so much dirt in Central PA. So I made my own routes through the area. I use a stock RAM 2500 and a stock Jeep Cherokee Limited and...

    Michigan UP in the M715

Thanks for sharing your trip. Your build is my favorite (love those 8.0l V10s) I enjoyed how your group rolled with the punches and made the best of all situations. Good stuff. Anxious to see more.

Has anyone else talked with a ranger or office personnel lately? We were visited by a ranger on our last trip. The conversation turned to the popularity of the motorized sites and the current situation of people wanting to be overlanders. He made mention that the motorized sites would be going...

Tuscarora State Forest in a RAM or 2

Getting excited for the trip to the Forest. Got the scout reports ready to go. Already did the North...hoping to at least get the top of the South done. Hiking and fishing, relaxing in general is the plan...but weather will dictate how much exploring is done.

Appalachian Mountains and Valley - Experiences East of the Mississippi

I have not found any of the pay to play routes to be worthwhile. So far I have not paid for any. My favorite part of this hobby is making a route and scouting it. The MABDR is another of those disappointing routes. They missed so much off pavement routes in the area.

Ideas needed for few days trip (NJ, PA, NY, VT or NH) this summer

This is the exact type of trip we have planned over Memorial day. We are heading to Tuscarora SF (just south of Bald Eagle State FOREST). Our campsite is right by a trout stocked stream and near many trails. We plan to fish, hike, scout some more campsites, fish, hike, find some vistas, fish...

Pennsylvania Forest Adventurer 2022, ONTO 2023

Debating my next area of exploration. I want to get to Elk. I just can not nail down the time. The problem is...i feel the need to drive from home out through Moshannon to maximize dirt. Guess I need to just hit the highway and get there. This past winter made the roads nearly impassable...

Tuscarora State Forest in a RAM or 2

I have been struggling with the sharing of info lately. But, ultimately I know how hard it is to get out and scout these areas/sites. So if I can help someone plan a trip...it is worth it to me. Wish I had known about this years ago. Especially the lizard maps. They make it so easy to...

Tuscarora State Forest in a RAM or 2

First scouting report is complete for Tuscarora State Forest North. We hit all the sites between RT 103 AND 35 except the lower 3 (23, 24 and 26) Of course...get your Purple Lizard Maps before you head here. I used it as the only navigation tool. Plenty pleased again. Although there is a...
