Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
You really don't see much starting at Wall Cr. (Harpster), it's heavily diverted from the historical path. An Archeologist friend surveyed the segment and filledme in but there's nothing you missed.
I'm thinking one forest road to Ohara is open again, that may have potential as a side trip...

@justjohnthomas and Dru rode part of it earlier this summer, maybe he knows if there are any detours. I know they are logging a section by Newsome, but it's a weekday closure.
The wagon road proper isn't too bad, a few ruts and bars, but enough to keep it fun. The side trip road up to pilot knob gets narrow and rocky, nothing technical, but good lines help. I think I have dashcam vid of it still, and I'll look for the post I created last year.
The ECWR society has...
I'm going to bounce to the Great White North to retrieve the maternal unit earlier than planned, but I'll be back by Aug 28th, ready to roll.
The Magruder is always an option, it will be heavily trafficked LDW. Elk City Wagon Rd is another option down this way, but I have a very flexible...
I have the Cobra 75 in one rig, and a 50 dollar Uniden 510 in another rig. Zero problems with either, but I run both with an external speaker. I went with the little Uniden because that's what most of the logging trucks in my area run, and they rely on their CBs way more than I do. 90% of my CB...
I've never washed my rigs since building the cabin. We haul water so I won't waste it on rigs, and if I washed it down in a town, it'd be filthy by the time I got it home. I did notice the shrubbery scraped off a good amount of mud on a narrow ridge ride this weekend though. When the snow flies...
I've had the 3.5gal Fuelpax for a year now; no complaints. Being an hour from the nearest gas station, it's filled year-round and refilled often.
I'm not very kind to it, 50 degree diurnal temp swings, this weekend alonewas a 16k ft elevation change on rough trails with no leaks; even took a...
@Aaron Niemi and I, with copilots and trail mascot in tow, made a great run.
Ran into an ATV club, where one member changed his oil and forgot to add new oil, so a small donation from my spare fluids kit helped keep them on the trail.
Found one couple carrying nothing but a cooler and a can of...
The Dirty Dog pet divider for my JKU. Installed it and literally watched my yellow lab nose, note:not chew, his muzzle through webbing almost instantly. I guess I'm happy it failed immediately instead of finding out in a rollover, crash, etc.
We'll be running most of the Lolo Motorway, west to east. After a night of dispersed camping, we'll connect up with the narrow and overgrown Toboggan Ridge and dropping down into some world class flyflishing grounds of the North Fork Clearwater River. The ride terminus is the Kelly Forks...
I have Ham and CB, mobile and handheld, the latter is nice for changing rigs or loaners so at least folks can listen. I debated the mobile GMRS, but settled on handheld, again for multiple rigs. But at least I can receive from members of my group rides who don't have other capabilities, and more...
