Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Myself, customers, and friends are using Sidetracked Offroad LED lights. Morgan, the owner, has been a pleasure to work with on different lights and other gear he supplies. His lights are great, have held up for years. Mid price range on the LED world. Don't get me wrong rigids are awesome, just...
What kind of GPS will you be running? When I'm down in baja for the 1000 we run PCI files (https://www.pciraceradios.com/collections/mapping) in the background for roads, access roads, and more. May not fit your needs but works great for us in the lowrance package. I would also give LeadNav a...
After some baja abuse. I have to give it to BFG for spending so much time on their offroad tires from design to real world racing to finalize their product. Its been fun to try out their development over the years from the KRs, KOs, and KMs. Toyo is also another awesome tire the other Trophy...
A few good campgrounds along HW 49 near Sierra City. Small town, one restaurant, one bar, one general store, that's about it. Hw 49 follows the beautiful North Yuba river and great for fishing and swimming. Try Wild Plum Campground: I haven't stayed there but drove by a few times both summer and...
Its taken me a while to get back to normal and forum checking since I got back. Happy to report the KM3 did good in testing and our team of 10 vehicles all equipped on the KM3s. We had two flats during testing before the race which made us think we were going to do a bunch of tire changes on the...
Old post but wanted to ask if you guys changed the dates on the trip. I'm leaving nocal Saturday morning and hope to arrive in Ensenada 7-9pm. Will be there all week and coming back sunday.
Its going to be an interesting race with race and chase traffic going both ways on the highway :grimacing:
Yes we did, helps to have close friends that are in some type of trade for a living. He's a cabinet/custom garage builder with his own business. He cut me the entire drawer system on his CNC machine haha. Its nothing fancy or "overland" extreme but does the job for what I wanted them for.
I don't know any release dates yet, and price I'm sure will be based on interest and demand when they get close to doing so. I would think it will be close to the price of the KM2 and KM2 price will drop to move inventory.
These are questions I will ask the bfg guys next week and report back...
My next tire will be a KM3. They will get the sidewalls strength and lugs from the KO2, slightly changed and center lug pattern. Pictures already coming to light and I will see them in person next week.
No you don't have a distributor cap. Most vehicles after early/mid 2000s went to coil-on-plug. But on a JK you have one big coil pack on the drivers side, take a look at it, all 6 ignition wires come off of that coil pack. For better water resistant set up you can add some dielectric grease on...
That's a nice setup, I wonder if anything rattles or makes noise going down a fire road. I think that's my biggest thing is I don't like things moving around and noises.
Also consider what you use your rear space area the most. I personally constantly have random objects in the back of the...
Your daily Low beam HIDs are perfect for that application, they do a really nice job at giving a good amount of light for road driving. I agree a good kit or factory set of HIDs for low beam is the way to go. Specially staying legal on the road and being able to see way more than your standard...
LEDs are the way to go. No need to warm up and can turn them on/off/on/off/on/off all day without killing the bulbs.
I get my lights and parts from sidetrackedoffroad.com
Thank you for extending that offer to the group. I understand is hard to open up your property to new people and the release of l. is a good idea. Regardless of group size everyone should sign it before going in.
It will be a few months for me to get back out and wheel or wonder around but...
Ya I got what you says sorry if I didn't explain myself better.
I'm not a big fan of too skinny, even aired down contact patch is just not enough.
I guess I come from a perspective of mix between Rubicon runs and baja trips. In both of those worlds as hobby or racing, don't really see a 10.5...
You nailed it, little articulation and clearance space, so they used skinny tires. I also think the idea was that if you happen to blow a tire and your spare, it was a popular size to find in other countries.
Now we can find bigger and wider sizes more commonly available in stock vehicles. So we...
