Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I do have a Tepui on top of my trailer. And you're absolutely correct when it comes to pulling the trailer. My goal with the Pioneer rack and FSR Tent was to have a RTT still, but on my Jeep, and one that was super easy to set up and take down so if I wanted to break camp and venture off it...
Decided to go a slightly different route and add a RTT to the Jeep, vs. having to take the trailer for that setup.
Ordered a Freespirit Recreation Asventure Series hardshell power top tent. And picked up a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform with Backbone system roof rack.
Totally excited to see how...
You guys are both very close!
So, here’s an easy way to figure out overall tire diameter:
The first number, in this case, is 315. 315 is referring to the actual WIDTH of the tire, measured in millimeters. Many think it’s referencing diameter, but it’s not.
The second number, 70, is actually...
And I believe you're correct on the 80/20. My neighbor just used the 80/20 in his Nissan Enve build out. Incredibly nice build, and those drawers and cabinets are bullet proof!
Great feedback @JeffnMar ...totally appreciate that. I also like that clean interior look on the FSR's. They do seem to be very well constructed. It's the hardshell and power top that really gets my attention. Literally just push a button on a remote and it opens and closes itself. Did you...
@JeffnMar , congrats on the tent purchase! Let us know how you end up liking it!
Out of curiosity, what did you think of the FSR tents? I'm looking at replacing my Tepui Autana with their hardshell power Adventure Series tent, mainly for the faster, easier setup.
I agree with you on this one as well. I also like having the floor in the Annex. About the only time I don't use it is during the winter, when the bugs/mosquitos and heavy rain, aren't an issue. I've actually never tried storing the annex with the floor attached. Do you do yours this way?
Awesome setup @Jeepsies ! Great write-up you did as well! The iKamper is definitely one that I've looked at myself as well, as I want to get away from a softshell RTT. I REALLY like that Freespirt Adventure series that's the hardshell powertop, like what Marco has. Decisions, decisions.
Just did some Yukon 4:88's in my Wrangler. HUGE difference over stock! More than anything, I'm impressed at how much better my gas mileage is, both around town, and on the hwy. The transmission doesn't have to hunt up and down so much as it did before. Much nicer driving it now. You'll be...
I know a few people with the HF systems, and they bought them a few years back, when they'd go on sale for like $119 or something like that?! They've had good luck with them.
These little trailers are so cool! I had the Cobalt version of the Fleetwood's, just slightly bigger than the Neon with the second slideout, and I loved that thing. Sometimes I wish I never would have sold it. They are rare, and super hard to find, especially as clean as yours is! Great...
