Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Thanks, it takes a lot of work to keep a 37 year old vehicle looking nice. There is absolutely zero rust. The is probably less than 4 ounces of skim coat filler on it. I have over 700k on the clock. I have over 200k on the stroker. The interior looks as good as the exterior.
I do all my own body and paint work I did 5 coats of clear but every couple of years I wet sand it down, mask it off and re do the clear coat before I get down into the paint.
The lat/ lon is listed down the sides of the Gazetteer maps so just get that from your phone and look it up on the paper maps. I carry a sextant with me for backup.
GPS is cool but a lot of hassle getting the right maps and such. I have had mine crap out multiple times. I try to never go anywhere without GOOD paper maps. Not the best, but Delorme makes the Gazetter series of maps by state.

Radio communications is sketchy at best in the mountains. More power rarely helps. The best bet is satellite.
I love the gal that ran off the road and down a mountain in Rocky Mtn Park. She was there for several days. She tried to sue the park, saying it was a government responsibility and...
I've been here working for two months. I am an aerospace engineer. I am just getting settled so I can go out. I ran a trail up to Crown King a couple of weeks ago from the south. It isn't the standard way and I did a 50 mile loop out through the desert. It was cool but I was by myself and...
I am new to the area and want to find all the best trails. Anybody have any tips, or want to tag along? I am hoping to head out tomorrow or Saturday July 18 for anything from one to three days. Like to take lots of pix and with the recent rains, hopefully the desert will be blooming.
Wanting to head out this weekend July 16... Anybody have plans. Was thinking of running Crown King but I am new to the area and living in Prescott. Could use some tips on good trails and places to photograph.
