Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Sorry! We got back into Hawk Canyon and didn't have any reception. We all packed up this morning and headed home. Had as awesome time this weekend, we will have to do it again soon!
On Saturday when we get to Fish Creek campground we will see how crowded it is. If its getting full when we arrive, we may have to find an alternate spot in the canyons. If we do end up going that route we will make sure and post the GPS coordinates where we will be so make sure and check before...
Wally, Here is the GPS location of the camp entrance at Fish Creek. There aren't many signs, but as you come down Split Mountain Rd. you will hit the wash and go right (South). Just follow your GPS to the location below and you should run into us. The entrance to the camp sight isn't super...
So far it looks like we have 5 - 6 rigs coming out Friday and a couple more showing up Saturday. For those just planning on meeting at Fish Creek Saturday, try getting the spots furthest south (near the restrooms) just makes the walk that much shorter!
Yeah, it is dispersed camping at its finest! No water or toilets, there are pleanty of hills around so you can find space to make one (or #2) with Mother Nature. Fish Creek has Vault toilets but no running water, so plan on bringing 1 - 2 gallons of water per person per day, plus drinking water.
You can make it to the camp site in Ocotillo in 2WD, it s a sandy wash but if you keep up your speed you can make it, but there are places going from where we are camping to get to Fish Creek where it is soft sand and 2WD might struggle. You could always just go around and take the S2 up to the...
For those coming Friday afternoon/evening, here is the turn off, the highway to camping spot (work your way northwest around the quarry following the trail about 1/3 mile). I will tie some yellow caution tape to a post at the turn off (to go North) and at the left turn on the trail. Once you...
Sorry getting back so late to everyone, just got back yesterday afternoon from a last minute prerun trip to Anza this weeked. I can meet up tonight at around 5:00 at Bitter Bros to discuss the camp spot/s, Comms, meals etc. Sorry I can't make it any earlier unfortunately.
The Fish Creek campsite is kind of hit of miss depending on the season. If you get there early enough on Friday we should be able to secure some spots, and since the weather is still warm out there we may be alright. Depending on the size of the group that shows up, we could always just go...
Chris, thanks for letting us know your plans so we can crash your Anza Borrego trip.
Since it was your idea go ahead and post a new thread about the details and we can all chime in and work out the details of the training and run arrangements!
