Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Hi everyone, over the years of off-roading, rock crawling, and now overlanding has shown me exactly the recovery gear I need in order to preform recoveries. The video below is something I put together outlining my personal recovery gear. This may not be a perfect list for everyone, but I think...
I agree. There are a few other mods or trips I would rather spend money on at this point than spending a few hundred dollars on an awning. Also, the best thing about this setup is that you can get any size tarp. I picked this size just to see what I could do with it. But an 8x10 tarp is way more...
Honestly, I see both sides. The vehicle awnings seem like they are nice and simplify the process, especially if you don't stay in one place for to long. But I agree, the amount of money some of these companies are charging for the awnings seems a bit over the top to me. Plus I dont always need...
So last summer Helen and I got caught out in thunderstorm. The rain was coming down so hard that it soaked us after being outside for only a minute or two. Luckily I always carry a small tarp with me in my jeep no matter were we go. I was able to make something up using the trees near by, but...
For almost 6 years now I have had an sPOD installed under the hood of my jeep. I go over what my views on the product are, how its treated me thus far, any issues I have had, and if its worth buying again. I'll have to admit, my jeep has been through a lot. I have put it through a lot of rock...
I run 33/10.5r15s on mine. I was running with 35s but there where a few things I disliked about a wide tire. Also I was running just enough lift to sneak the 35s under ( 3.5" lift with a 1.25" body lift). While this worked, I did not have much up travel. I love the tire size now and honesty the...
My method to clean the front windshield when off road is different. I don't carry anything extra with me because I am force to. I have a very limited amount of space since I use a Jeep TJ to explore in. With that said, here is what I do.
First I flip my windshield wipers forward, I then hit my...
Some states you can run DOT legal driving lights with your headlights as long as they are mounted below the hood. However, I despise when oncoming traffic drives with floodlights on. My pupils give them angry looks.
So I generally agree with what you have going on. My problem was I had removed the fog lights for flood and that was a bad decision.
Now I run fogs down low, Driving beam about the same height as my headlights, spots up high on the roof. It seems to work great for me because I have so many...
In this video, I rip out my LED floodlights, that I once used to replace my fog lights, and reinstall my factory fog lights. Let me know what you think. Also, do you run fog lights or floodlights and why?
This was taken in the desert near Ridgecrest, California during one of the recent large and rare snow storms they had. Of course, I had to go out and explore!
I don’t think they would an affect on a JK.
The reason this works with a TJ is because the power has to run through the in cab switch creating a voltage drop.
I’m not entirely sure, because I don’t own one, but I bet the JKs headlights have relays. If in fact the JK has the same power design...
Thank you! I'll be honest, I really wanted to go explore and play in the snow. That area hasn't had snow in about 10 years, So it was a rare event and very exciting. However, when I saw people and families in need I could not just leave them there. I agree this is what makes Overland Bound...
