Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I like how you have different filtering methods for different needs. I also employe some of the same methods when it comes to keeping water long term in water cans. Thank you for sharing! I agree, we filter our home water as well.
I have been looking at a roof top box as well. Only my issue is that I do not want something to tall. Personally, my ideal height would be about 6-8" at the most. This way it stay low profile with the roof rack. It would be nice if there was a company that made something like an All-box or...
Hello everyone,
I hope you all are doing well. Like you all I am super excited to get out and explore! However, like the title states, I wanted to make a thread questioning the validity of filtering water vs storing enough to carry with us. For us we currently use a LifeSaver Jerrycan. I bought...
As always, thank you for your knowledge on the subject! I have always liked the idea of the Front Runner Jerry Can, if I didnt have this jug laying around I would have bought that one.
The 2.5gal jug idea has caught my eye too. We dont bring shower water with us in the jeep, we just simply...
Here is one of my two water systems that I use when exploring/overlanding. What do you use for water? How do you carry it? How would you carry it if space was tight?
$60 DIY Overland Onboard Water System
Made this little video to help everyone out. It's so useful! Do you agree? Or do you have a better setup for washing hands? On a serious note, we use this mainly for off-roading and camping. Its super handy to be able to wash your hands before diving into cooking dinner, or building a mean...
Honestly, I am not sure that a roof top tent is actually safer. To me if a bear or some other large animal wants to get on the roof of my jeep... Its going to happen. However, there is a sense of security being up off the ground.
We share a lot of the same concerns. This is my second one, the first one was an overlander XL I had placed on a trailer. I don't have it anymore for reasons. For me, the space is a huge concern running a Jeep TJ and camping with two people posses a lot of space constraints. Like you, my ground...
Thank you! Nice! I was really looking at a tent that packed slimmer and also at some hard shell tents, they are amazing. My vehicle is just not long enough lol.
If only I had the space for that on the roof of my Tj, I would have to graduate to a trailer. But I agree, a hard shell tent would be super nice. I can say that for us the RTT is only faster at setup and take down because we don't have to blow up our sleeping pads or setup any of the sleeping...
I agree with the Duratrac statement. I have witness a friend put fist size holes in all five tires on one jeep trail. To get to a trailer he had to using bailing wire to stitch all of his tires multiple times. I think they are good tires, unless you plan to be slightly aggressive off road. I...
And when there is so little of it, everything has to be perfect. Ive done meh fair share of piling gear in the back! Photo from when I first started using the jeep to do longer trips in.:tearsofjoy:
Thank you very much for the kind words, glad to see you are enjoying the videos so far! I hope that this helps open up discussions so that we can all learn from each others personal setups and experiences.
First off wow, what an amazing wealth of knowledge and experience you have. Thank you...
