Leaving your 12v fridge plugged in?

I have the CFX55IM. Lately I leave it in the truck bed and just clean it out and turn it off. It has an RTT over it so it doesn't see much sun or rain while sitting there. There are holiday occasions where we need the extra fridge space and I bring it in the house.

    Camp coffee!

We grind coffee before we leave. Hopefully make enough. I can do w/o but the wife "needs" it. We boil water in our JetBoil MiniMo and then use the JetBoil French Press. French press parts pack into the MiniMo.

    Rig Photos

First night was a thunderstorm which we "weathered" just fine. We got to camp and had to setup in the dark but the rack lights really helped a lot there. We went to a 2nd site the next day and found a great place by a creek in the mountains of N GA. Had a beautiful day and enjoyed the time...

Best MT for a DD/Weekend Warrior?

General Grabber X3's have been good for me. Good road manners. 25k on them and good amount of tread left.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

First trip with the new Roofnest Condor XL. First night was a thunder storm. Slept great the 2nd night with temps in the low 40's. No condensation build up with both side windows cracked open. Wife loves it over our Gazelle T4+ Overland. That's a win in my book. We stayed in the...

    Gladiator Mojave vs Rubicon

If payload is a concern, pay close attention to the sticker on the door jam. My Mojave has a payload of 1101 lbs not the 1200lbs the brochures and online specs give you. I put AirLift 1000 air bags on the rear just to give a little extra support.

    Drones Pics and Videos

Got a Skydio 2+ for Christmas. I really like how well it follows you (vehicle/person) from one of 8 quadrants surrounding you. Heading out west this fall and will use it as much as possible to document our trip. Below is a test panoramic shot (made up of 8 individual photos stitched together)...

Bears and food in the fridge of the rig

Mattlew mentioned using bear spray on foliage around camp as a deterrent. I have a pool that uses chlorine tablets. I've thought about having an open container of that near the tent and truck. If they have sensitive noses they surely wouldn't want to smell that and it may cover up the food...

    Hub Tent reviews/suggestions

Gazelle T4+ Overland Ed. Had the rainfly on due to threat of overnight showers. Not a good tent picture but you get to see the rainfly and overall size. It's big and roomy. Basically 2 T4's. Two big cots and lots of extra space.

I need your help! Choosing a mobile unit: MXT575 VS KG-1000G

The Wouxun is not any harder to use as a basic radio. Turn it ON, select channel and talk just like a Midland. The question is do you have any use now or in the future for the additional features. Plus if you get the Wouxun you get to be as confused as the rest of us as to how to pronounce...

    GMRS

I replaced my Ghost antenna with a Laird BB4505CNS. Same mount location as the Ghost (cowl). The tip is just over the top of the roof. On a recent trip I was communicating with repeaters 30 miles away. One comm was from O'Hare airport to Joliet, IL and the other was from Rensselear, IN to...

    GMRS

I have a Wouxun (pronounced Ocean) KG-1000G mounted on a Quadratec quick disconnect universal cb radio mount and a Midland Ghost antenna mounted on a cowl bolt using Rugged Ridge MT-ANT-JEEP-DS. Not real happy with the SWR reading on the Ghost antenna though. It's 2.23 and should ideally be...
