1 other detail on the kelty chairs. The cupholders have a piece in the them that folds flush to the rear to create a large pocket for items such as a phone, keys, flashlight etc that tends to be bigger than a 12oz can. Or, you can fold out to create a2 part pocket and still able to sit your yeti...
We were also tired of the sagging, mesh tear prone, cheap chairs. It also was a packing nuisance to figure out the cargo tetris of 2 beach chairs. After much exploring we found the Kelty loveseat. This would also allow us to sit together when by the campfire. Be honest, we all end up trying to...
I can be, but I'd like to know for sure this is happening. It's a little bit of a drive to show up and no one else be there. Especially since the trails are closed
Call the ferry service and ask them about island conditions. They're very informative about the different areas and can tell you if there are certain parts you should avoid. Personally, I feel if you have experience sand driving, lower tire PSI to around 15-18 and follow the sand driving 101...

I submitted an email request online through Davis Shore Ferry Service's website for this coming May.
Submitted request on Thursday, February 21st and recieved a call from them on Monday, February 25th to confirm my request and confirm each vehicle. She...
Hey y'all, I was finally able to post the Gaia track via GPX file. I posted both tracks for Hurricane Creek and also Max Patch to Buzzard Roost Overlook. They are located on the Overland Bound Downloadable Routes Forum if you search.
I'm sorry it only posted the link from Max Patch to Buzzard Roost.
I made both links public so you around be able to open and save.
This is the link for Hurricane Creek.

I'm not sure if this will work, but I can't get the export to allow me to upload onto OB talk.
Let me know if this opens for you.

I have tried to figure out how to post routes through GAIA on OB. I've seen other members do this, but I cannot find ot how. If you know how, or anyone else, and can explain, I'll post the route I saved
Once you get to the end of hurricane creek you'll exit and take a sharp left. On a huge tree there is a small wooden sign saying Max patch on your left. Head down that path for about 10 mins. If you have Gaia maps it's super helpful for this part and guiding the forest service roads.
I just looked at the Davis Isle Cape Lookout ferry service website and it says their phone line is still down but they are answering emails. Check with them via email and also Inquire about the Cape Lookout Ferry service that is right beside the Davis Ferry.
Hope you're able to make it.
No problem at all. If you have any other questions I'm happy to help. We had a blast and have considered going again.
The trail has it all too; Mud, rock steps, multiple water crossings (very shallow though), gravel road, hill descents and beautiful scenery.
We took my Stock 18 TRD PRO 4runner a stock 08 Sequoia and a 1.5" lifted Tacoma and had no issues at all. There was also 2 stock JKs that came up the trail while we were there.
This was 2 days after the hurricane came right through the area also so washouts were pretty rough in areas and still...
In Winston Salem area. I'd like to go to a rally anyways especially since it's at the local wheeling place. Uwharrie is basically the closest area to most of us in the NC triad.
