The ZR2 has different axles and some other slight suspension/chassis differences that make it not quite a bolt on upgrade to put ZR2 suspension on non-ZR2 trucks. Just to be clear, though, the AT4 trim has none of the ZR2 mechanicals. The AT4 OverlandX prototype is effectively a ZR2 in GMC...
All of the AT4 bolt-ons are available in the Chevy/GMC catalogs so you can install them without impact to the warranty. That's the big thing with factory bolt-ons vs aftermarket if you care about your warranty.
The main thing to remember with the AT4 is that it's basically all bolt-on differences; 1" leveling lift, tire/wheel package, skid plates, rocker protection. You don't get any anything different in the drivetrain, still the same open front diff and G80 rear locker available on the other Canyon...
Bought the fridge slide new from Artemis Overland (Alu-Cab Tilting Fridge Slide) last November, works great. Moving to a trailer so no need for the slide anymore. Usable tray dimensions are 800x500 mm or 31.5"x19.68". It's decently heavy so not really interested in shipping but will meet a...
Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, there is no "best" vehicle otherwise we'd all be owning it. Best depends on so many personal factors and travel goals, so without knowing budget, destinations, terrain you want to traverse, etc. there's no way to provide a list of vehicles to look into...
As a Canyon owner myself and being on some popular forums for this platform, I've often thought about swapping in ZR2 axles and suspension. It's just stupid expensive. If a long bed wasn't on my must-have list it would've been hard to say no to going with a ZR2 at the time considering it was...
The main desire for a proper heater while camping, for me, is to prevent condensation and help dry or keep things dry. This is also the main reason why we haven't done winter camping with the RTT, no way to get it properly dry once back home and I care for my gear so I'd rather miss out on some...
Yup, 3rd for aftermarket progressive spring pack and better shocks. I have the Deaver Expedition leafs and Peak 2.0 rear shocks under the back of my truck, huge difference when carrying a lot of weight. Almost feels like you're not carrying anything, rides and handles loaded as well as it does...
ZR2 probably has pretty similar factory payload rating as my Canyon Denali (1,219LB). Check the tire placard on the driver's B-pillar to compare. That means my curb weight without driver is 4,981 pounds.
With my wife, 16-year-old daughter, myself, plus...
ARE Z-series shell (180LB or so)

I have a generator, snowblower, lawnmower, and have had PWCs and boats that sit for 6-9 months at a time. I use Sta-Bil in the fuel and run the engines afterward to ensure it runs through the fuel system. Never had any issues and the gas in the generator is probably a few years old at this...
My wife and I have been trying to figure out where we want to end up once we're empty-nesters (not too far off). Finding the "Goldilocks" of locations is pretty hard as you can imagine, even harder when my wife and I have different ideas about what climate is acceptable. :D I'd love to be...
The only progress payments are $1000 to lock in our order 12 weeks before production begins and then the balance of the trailer due 2 weeks before production completes.
So there are checkpoints along the way and not just waiting. But still... It's a lot of waiting. On the flip side, the wait...
Hasn't even been a week since we put the order in and it feels like it's been a month. I've never been good at waiting, this is going to be awful but worth it. :)
We've placed an order for a trailer and this fridge won't fit in the slide, so it's gotta go. Bummer, because this fridge is awesome! Roughly a year old and used a handful of times, always either stored in the garage or in the bed of my truck which has a topper. Cools fast and is very...
Check out the ICECO units. I've been very happy with my ICECO VL60D (dual zone). A little larger than you're looking at, but they make the VL45 which is a smaller single-zone unit. IMO, hard to beat for the money. Beyond that, your typical Dometic, Snomaster, Truma, ARB, etc are all solid...
As far as comms is concerned, my setup isn't ideal but I'm comfortable with it.
2m/70cm mobile rig in the truck (with APRS TX/RX)
2m/70cm handheld (with APRS TX)
Garmin inReach
In addition to the usual cell phone. I'd like to get a PLB as a last-resort emergency beacon should all other...
