If you are married or have a better half, it is always best to give thanks!
In this, our travels are best adventured together.
Time out to say, Thank you.
Hey guys, I know that I might be overreacting here, but something recently happened over the summertime in an NM forest. I had to write about it to make sense.
But if you were ever in a situation, in the bush or other, would you protect your family to the full degree?
See my post here and tell...
While overlanding in AZ, we had to stop at the Grand Canyon. Although at the South Rim where more of the touristy go, it was still GRAND.
Let me know if you have any special spots where boondocking is allowed. For now, enjoy the pics and tips: 8th Wonder of the World
If you keep exploring, you will find things that never would have come across your path. Whether about camping or vehicle-dependent exploration, keep on truckin'.
Cinders as a terrain? I never would have thought it! But it does exist and we found ourselves stuck.
Another wonder point...
Recently, I was hiking in the Petrified Forest. Noticed it got late for a comfortable camp setup. So, I geocache a basecamp.
Found it off-road, but not before some beautiful driving in the desert.

It's true, some environments are worthy of the off-road expedition and time and talent it takes to get there. For me, NM and AZ were NOT those places. But I was wrong.

Hey folks, ever traversed in your favorite biome and come across someone from back home? Well, this happened to me and my wife during a recent excursion to New Mexico. The guy from my hometown was hospitable but impressed us with his setup in the middle of Dog Canyon. He pulled out all the...
Hey there! I just want to say, "Whew!" overlanding can take a toll on the body, mind, and spirit of a person. In my 14 years of exploration, I hear this is true for everyone.
But who is talking about it?
I am, and I have a protip for you,

Tuckered Out Traveling? Does it happen? Am I weird? Exhausted Overlander wants to hear from you.
I never thought this would happen, but it must be true. Who talks about this, anyway?
Well, I have been in it for 30 years, and whew, tuckered.
I am exhausted link.
It has been a conversation piece around many campfires. Which do you prefer, winter or summer exploration?
For this Texan, there are only two seasons, and I prefer summer. So, I know things are COLD but don't fret, spring is coming.

Folks!
When in Overland Mode, have you ever got a sense that the map was moving you towards something different, something weird? Well, that happened to us while in the Badlands exploring.
Located in the city of Wall, just north of Badlands National Park, Wall Drug offers something distinct...
There is a rumor about a 50/50 split on boondocking with a Chevy Colorado. But it's higher, much higher in real-life scenario situations such as solo campers and vehicle-dependent explorers.
I know, I know, "it's not what you drive..." but for me, it's been a hell of a surprise!
Can you...
While in the Black Hills of SD, we visited two well-known monuments. As both are interesting, one was distinguished for sure for travelers.
See it here unfold: Dakota Monuments
Near Custer, South Dakota there is a road that winds left, sharp right, and goes up and down into tunnels.
Nominal risks, vehicle dependant, and preparedness provide a road trip experience known as, Driving the Needles.
Check it out.
Heading south from Canada we groove towards Regent, ND. In that stretch of road, we come across the whole fledge artwork on the prairies of Noth Dakota.
A sight to see for sure: Enchanted Highway
Enjoy!
What happens when you prepare best to traverse right out of the country, organize your path, and only discover you CAN'T?
Always prepare a plan B!
I learned that Plan Bs are important to keep the journey going: Destination fail at Canadian Boarder
Some say that there is nothing to see or explore in Texas, but I disagree. In the summer heat, I ventured into the Panhandle of the great state of Texas and found amazing RED SOIL that makes the landscape of the canyons of Texas.
Heat, Native Bison, Canyon, Turkey, and something alarming was...
Kitchen Gooroos,
Recently, I thought to plug my big Ninja mixer into my Jackery for my health drinks. Nah, too much clean-up I thought. Especially, while in the bush! So instead, I tried a personal mix bullet. Check this review out and let me know what you think.
