i'd start by being a little more specific about your goals. if you got your license so you can communicate practically with specific people (e.g. trail rides, ARES/emergency situations, wilderness hikes/hunts) then what you need to know is very different from other goals like building your own...

Aside from locks my truck has two dash cams and I keep one pointed at the trailer and if possible the other pointed at the most likely ingress (e.g. Road/trail I came in on) As soon as I figure out where to put my spare tire I'll put a truck vault in the bed for valuables
