    Bikini tops

The 90 had a "standard' style jeep roll bar. Later model YJ's had a "family" style bar. They can be swapped between years. If you have a family style bar, any later model bikini top should fit. I've never tried to use a bikini plus top on an old style roll bar. good luck, Ron

    Dana 44 swap

If you are staying spring under the axle, early full size Cherokee/wagoner had 44 front axles. they were 60.5" wide and is almost a bolt in. I narrowed a full width jeep truck front axle for my YJ. What's the track width of a jeepster? I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can...

Who has built there own Overlad Trailer?

I built a m416 ish trailer to carry my camping gear on and off road. I used 2x2x1/8 tubing for the frame, it's strong and helps manage the weight. I used a 3500# axle with electric brakes. I don't know about other axles but I could get drums with a matching wheel bolt pattern. I used a...

    Wheel base

The guys I run with do 6.5:1 gears in the transfer case, spring over axle, disc brake conversion on the rear axle, lunch box lockers, 31-33" tires and then they climb anything in sight. Along with wheel base don't overlook width, 2" more width can help a lot with stability in off camber...

    Wheel base

A Sami will yield a lot of offroad performance for a small amount of money. There's 4 or 5 in the offroad club I belong to, Ron

    Wheel base

I did a shackle reversal from WFO concepts, and stayed spring under the axles with 3.5" leaf springs. The axles are stock width. It's a lot of fun, I drove it to Colorado springs last year and picked up a new frame for it. I can run 70 mph on the road, when you drop the tire pressure to 12...

    Wheel base

Greaman is right on point. I have followed 4runners built similar to my YJ wrangler and it performed better than my jeep in certain areas. I personally like my Yj due to short wheel base, but I also use a trailer for camping. Ron

Recommendation for Air Compressor When on the Trail

I inflated 6 tires, with a short break in between each. On #7 the magic smoke came out of the motor. After that I bought a dual ARB compressor and have had no problems. Good Luck, Ron

    Dutch/Camp Oven

I added more berries than called for, it called for 12 oz, I added another 6. It took less than 20 minutes to cook. I didn't do the sassy sauce. It was really good. Ron

Thoughts on upgrading trans/rad/oil coolers on older model trucks(20+ years)?

The technology advances in heat transfer alone in 20+ years makes any upgrade worth it, within reason. An all aluminum radiator will allow more heat transfer, auxiliary transmission coolers will do the same. An engine oil cooler will help stabilize coolant temperatures as well. Another upgrade...
