    Leer truck cap

    It's about 76", it won't fit a 4 door truck, Ron

    Jack with built in stand.

I've seen them work well on the trail. A little heavy and bulky to haul, but in a jeep space is at a premium. Tractor supply has them also. Ron

can you put tubes in tubeless tyres

Yes it can be done. It'll take some time, I've seen guy's sew the side wall together with wire, patch the inside and ran it. The tube is a better idea, My concern would be a bulge on the side wall even with the patch. Ron

    Shackles

Thanks for the great information. I've always gone with twice my winch capacity, I have been carrying weight I don't really need, but I like the overkill. Thanks for the info, Ron

To lift or not to lift

"Colorado dude" A very wise man, a man I respected very much, used that phrase " slow is smooth, smooth is fast". I thank you for that memory again, Sir. Ron.

To lift or not to lift

I adding expedition/camping to my trail riding/camping. I run a jeep with 5" of lift with 35" tires, after putting on it's side and roof, there's a lot to be said for a capable vehicle with a low center of gravity. If I did it again I'd lean towards traction and stability. Ron

    Leer truck cap

I have a Leer truck cap for a 95 to 04? Tacoma. I was told it'll fit standard cab or extended cab, NOT a 4 door cab. All glass and seals are in good shape, third brake light has water in it. I removed it for cleaning and draining. Cap is red, $500, obo. Located in Newark, Ohio. I will post...

    Camp Site Tips and Tricks.

I have a Kamprite tent cot, oversized single. It's a fine product. It's very warm, with the air mattress all you're doing in it is sleeping. There's no extra room for storage or changing clothes. Good luck, Ron.

CJ-8 Scrambler Build - This may take awhile

Good luck, I have a basket case 82 in the back yard. A buddy said "I need to borrow your truck and trailer". He's a really good friend, so no questions asked, sure. First questionable decision. A couple of hours later he shows up at my work, with an 82 scrambler on the trailer. I quote...

    Old block, new head dilemma

What tests have you done? If the engine is still assembled, I'd recommend doing a cylinder leak down test. This will tell you where the leakage is going, rings/valves/gasket. 150K on a 4.0 isn't a deal breaker, some years had weak heads. I can go into detail on the leak down test if needed...
