Today was a great day! I replaced the EVAP canister on my 2019 JLU. Took most of the afternoon, but saved me about 300$ over having the dealer do the work. Not to mention it makes me feel good to be able to do some repairs by myself!

I agree with others here. Personally I run 275/70 R18, because they give a good bit of comfort when I am in the trail and respond well on pavement. If your mostly on road and not extreme off-roading then the smaller aspect will same some weight and still perform well. At the end of the day tires...
I agree, although I was more adventurous than some and buried mine to the headlights in mud my first trip out. An expensive mistake I would avoid if you can! It cost me an alternator and a starter. But after that I have been a bit more cautious and have had some great fun!
I am new here as well, in the Louisville KY area. I have been a Wrangler owner for about a year, and am starting to get serious about overlanding. I would like to meet some like minded folks to learn from!

I would say carrying a couple extra gallons might not be a bad idea. The issue becomes when folks go overboard and want huge tanks. The excess weight alone would stop me.
I used the Teraflex hinge mount on my Wrangler with a 5’ firestik antenna and get a 1.0-1.1 SWR and can talk about 3 miles. So that seems like a decent location.
