I'm curious how "regularly" equates to miles. I'm not a mechanic but I like the idea of my brakes functioning correctly at all times! How often do you guys flush your brake fluid?
You mean like this? I've got a guy that would like to purchase my sliding tray and it turns out that the little storage cubby behind the back seats and that carpet piece are part of the sliding system. After looking at my pics I came to the same conclusion as you so out it came. I've got some...
The seatbacks will provide some additional support for the platform to lay across. The platform will extend up to the backs of the front seats with an extra flip-up piece on the passenger side (the side I'll sleep on) that will provide additional headroom when the passenger seat is pushed...
Yes. If you pull the seat bottoms out the backs will lay completely flat. Since the platform will be permanent I no longer have a need for the rear seats.
I replaced an inner door seal that my dog tore up. I also removed the seat bottoms and headrests to make way for a permanent sleeping/storage platform. Next up is the sliding cargo tray. BTW. If anyone needs seat bottoms, headrests, or a sliding cargo tray, DM me.
Thank you for the info, Wawa! Do you mind sharing where you got your catch can? Tons of options out there at different price points but they all seem to be relatively similar designs.
You're absolutely right! I almost started falling into the whole "gotta have what the YouTubers have" rut but I've realized that there are some amazing products out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. I've also realized that I don't need it all.
You can pick up some filters like the ones below that would allow you to filter some of the dust. They do restrict some airflow so you would want to find some computer fans that have a high static pressure like the ones they use in water-cooled PC radiators. Another idea would be to wire in a...
I put a down payment on a custom storage/sleep platform for my 4runner. I was originally looking at the Goose Gear setup but I just couldn't stomach the price. Ended up going with Solid Wood Worx in Huntington Beach. Brian does some awesome work and he's saving me more than 50% over the Goose...
Not sure how large the existing vents are but you could use 12v 80 - 120mm computer fans and mount those over the vents to help either push cool air in or pull warm air out.
There's a 5th gen 4runner around the corner from me that attached d-shackles to those tie-down loops located in the front. I would not want to be anywhere near that vehicle when they need to yank it out of some mud.
