    Monache Meadows June 9th-11th

The only real concerning picture is that bottom left. That is crazy how much water is flowing there. the only option since the trail around that part of the river (normally a creek) is gone would be to cross that at the sand crossing. That crossing is typically deep all season. The main river at...

BoldAdventures 2015 Ram Power Wagon Build

I think the straight rate Thuren coils would be a better choice for most than the dual rate Carli or Synergy coils (I have Synergy).

Is it possible that he didn't take the time to disconnect the front swaybar on the AEV? Mine would lift a rear tire all the time before I removed one of the swaybar links.

Last minute trip to Big Bear 06/04

It is supposed to be easy to moderate. I have done part of 3n17 on a dirtbike and don't remember anything crazy. It will be me in a Megacab on 35s, my dad in a Discovery on 32s, and Albert in a Jeep TJ or possibly his Sportmobile. No crazy rock crawlers.

Last minute trip to Big Bear 06/04

Looking at the map, we might come up 3n14 and take that until it meets up with 4n16 to get more dirt miles in.

Last minute trip to Big Bear 06/04

Sorry this is so last minute. I am doing a day trip tomorrow up to Big Bear. Plan is to take 4n16 up to 3n17 to 3n16 to H18. Depending on time frame we might continue on to Pioneer town for dinner. We are meeting at Apple Valley Chevron at 8:30. Corner of H18 and Central. I want to limit this...

    Monache Meadows June 9th-11th

A lifted 2wd with a locker and a good driver could probably make it back out up the trail. There might be one or two short sections they need help.

Do you think the rangers would be interested in a volunteer crew to help repair and open the trail. Could be a fun work / play weekend.

Definitely postpone. I can't do Bodie as my son wont be healed yet and that is too much ground to cover on crutches. I am open to other ideas.

Lets just hope that none of the spots on that side of the river are all ready taken. The far side of the river will hold 20ish vehicles by my rough estimation.

    Water Purification whats your method

https://www.platy.com/filtration/gravityworks-4-0l-filter I use the bag to bag method with built in filter. I would like to get an additional pump filter for when the water source is not strong enough to fill the bag.

Single burner or two burner on the trail?

I have a two burner Coleman with a griddle, 10" skillet, and sauce pan. I also have a jet boil for instant hot water for coffee, tea, freeze dried hash browns. I also have a Camp Chef expedition three burner that I use when trailer / group camping that has a massive cast iron griddle. I have not...

Debating full size or FJ Cruiser

Yes, 08 Ram 2500 megacab. Per specs it is 84.6 with mirrors folded. It has been up Last Chance Canyon, up Rattlesnake Canyon, down Sherman Pass Trail, and up Indian Creek Trail among others. I drive it everywhere I can fit it and a few places I couldn't.

Debating full size or FJ Cruiser

If the widths are that close I would keep the F-150, add enough lift to clear a true 35 with better shocks than you can afford, add sliders, add F/R lockers (front select-able) and gear accordingly. I have width problems way more often than I have length problems and even at my 160.5" WB. A big...
