Supposedly there is enough room to turn around 5 or so vehicles. Roof height is more of a concern for me...
It comes up in google maps 36.7515661,-118.0513667 is were I think the opening is. I went up the canyon at 36.7468261,-118.051742 by mistake last year. There is some cool equipment up...
When dry I am rarely ever in 4wd on the normal roads and trails in the area. The only exceptions I can think of are Indian Ridge Trail, 4S06B due to washouts, and side routes on Old Idyllwild road out of Banning.
I would keep the speeds down on San Jacinto Truck trail as it is well traveled on...
I really liked them after seeing one set up in the dessert winds as I struggled with my Coleman Cabin tent. I think it was a 3 or 4 as it has plenty of room as a tent alone. It looked like you could stand up and move around a bit.
The people across from us at expo had what I think was a 1. The...
If you want excitement and have a capable vehicle than take the ridge. The ridge trail is not marked on google maps, but you can see it on Satellite. I did the ridge in the Dodge. I had trouble getting through 4 or 5 sections and added a little bit of rock graphics to the paint.
The other trail...
Gear Grinders is working on Sherman Pass Jeep Trail 7/08.
There are lots of fun roads in the Mammoth area. If you turn down Benton Crossing and then veer left down the dirt road. There are a few tubs back there if you know where to look and a few nice spots to camp. I don't know what this winter...
Part two
- Continue on San Jacinto Truck Trail
- Right turn on Indian Creek Truck Trail (might be labeled 4S05)
- Keep right at Indian Creek rd
- A little further up you have a choice of taking the more direct route of 4S05 to H243 to the right or the little longer route of 4S06 which also goes...
Part 1
Okay, this is from maps so take it for what it is.
- Take H74 from Hemet
- Right turn on the Old Control Road. (this is the only one I have not personally been on)
- Keep left at Red Hill (it probably won't look like a turn). The road to the right here will take you through the School for...
There are two good spots on San jacinto Truck Trail about a third of the way between the San Jacinto river crossing and where it exits to Pine Cove rd. There are a few places further up toward Pine Cove that could be made to work. they just are not as established.
There are a some fantastic...
I ran the Smittybilt 2781 and modified it for on-board air. I had it mounted next to a air tank where the spare tire used to sit. Two issues, it doesn't have a good filter, and it didn't like being submerged. I bought another as it filled the tires up real well, it is cheep for the CFM, and it...
No problems that I saw. I put it in with clear silicone. They sit under the rear hatch when closed. I wanted to add a LED to the underside of the hatch to light camp when open. There wasn't the flush mount offerings there is now so I never got it done.
since the rear barn doors a hollow fiberglass, you can do a lot of neat things to them. I have seen them opened for storage. The best mod I did was bought cup holers from a boat shop and drilled the top of the door to counter sink them in.
