So I am in the progress of storing my truck for about 6 months. There are basics I understand but let us explain it all in one thread.
Vehicle storage in the Northern lands
Southwest
Northeast
Southeast
and everywhere in between!
This is what I know (what I am doing with my truck):
-I am...
I watched that vid on fans. You guys use more torque then Horsepower out on the trail.
I don't want an electrical fan but to gain some numbers should I upgrade to a thermal clutch fan?
I don't plan on staying in the desert long. I'm from then evergreen state. It sounds that Jet hot or another ceramic coating is the best.
I understand they made theses engines to run at certain temps. Engine temps I think are fine if I maintain coolant levels. Long-life and how well...
How do Flex fans rob power and mpg? I do not have clutch fan.
There isn't a cooling issue or over-heating issue I just want to drop the temp a bit to help in the long run, maybe run better?
Have a Fan shroud. The radiator is stock; the fan have now is the stock quad blade the new one is a five blade flex, so not electric. I don't necessarily have an over-heating issue I just want to drop the temp a bit to help in the long run. as for the exhaust I would be applying wrap or jet hot...
I run a 78 Dodge W200 with a 360, no mods. I have a aftermarket fan I am going to attach and I wanted a Trans cooler. should I invest in an oil cooler as well?
I have no idea what my under hood temps are, or engine temps are, I guess I should update the stock gauges, didn't want to.
I got my Toyos from them. They worked with me and had them in store within a couple days.
besides price and parts unavailability, the only issue I had is that they didn't have a valve stem for my wheel . They reimbursed me for the mount; and I got the tire done somewhere else. If I wanted to...
Nice rides guys. 1978 Dodge W200 I think the better question is who drives the older rigs.
It needs work, but for the most part I won't be changing much.
So I'll be Summering in Finland next year, and I was thinking if it turned long long term I could ship my truck over. My Girl has a friend down in Indonesia and so thus the Challenge of Overlanding (driving) there was started. I was thinking of driving from Helsinki Finland to Surabaya...
So the Tranns job was a flop. another tranns guy said that he must have only done half of the clutches when he rebuilt it. At least he slowed the leak by fixing the front pump seal. I got down to Overton fine and all just within a couple of weeks the pan gasket blew and silly me pushed it too...
Yellowstone Update
Got the tranns rebuilt, going for a test drive later today (8-22) They replaced clutch discs and bands and the front pump seal. I had thought it was the front pump but he said they don't go out very often. So go that done for way cheaper than thought. He Looked over the...
Trying to cut back on some of the heat build up under the hood. I think I could run it just to under the cab but there are at least three different types and I would need one that could repel or with stand mud , snow, water, the standard elements.
I got stock exhaust manifolds and stock pipes...
Is this restriced to Toyotas only?
Cuz I was asking else where about the clamp on style. I got gutters on my 78 and I was wanting to clam beccasue I don't have to worry about leaks or dealing with my two piece roof.
If I could add the clps to a coutom made one then that works.
