Cancelled Mojave Trail Guardian Dispersed Campsite Access Recording/GPX Oct 24-28

The start date doesn't show up in the orange box, just times. Nor is the actual date ever listed in details, just "thursday"... This is a known bug I've seen and reported before, it would help if actual dates were listed in the details. Thanks!

Need help with an under hood dual battery setup and wiring

Redarc bcdc is a good alternator charger. However, I would not use an AGM as 2nd battery now. An LFP or LiFePO4 lithium battery will give you twice the Watt-hrs for the same weight, and with less hassle for charge-states and battery dying. I would also consider putting 2nd battery and the bcdc...

    induction cooking?

Good test. Matt, look at the Pecron e1500LFP, I have one and love it, on sale this week for $599. 2200W inverter, boost to 4400w. I have the duxtop LS9600 burner, looks similar to grubworms above. I've been cooking on it for every meal for a couple months, using my Pecron, to learn the...

    induction cooking?

I have been experimenting. Doubt the Jackery 1000 is enough inverter... Most induction cookers that are worth using are 1800W, anything less is very weak and a super small heat ring. And because it is induction, it needs more than 1800W to cycle on and off as they do. Recommend at least 2000W...

Inverter recommendation for 100aH deep cycle battery?

Exactly. Your current battery won't run a 2000W inverter, but don't let a $200 battery be the limiting design factor for your system! For $200 you could buy a 2nd battery and push 2400W if needed. IMO, the main items I want 120v for in a truck camper are an electric kettle, 1200-1400w...

power options for our camping setup.

This is generally good advice, dc use vs. Ac. However, there is a recent trend in PowerStations for the internal battery to be 48V, not 12V, allowing higher amps, higher mppt solar charge voltages, smaller and cooler internal wiring. Examples include most recent Oupes, Ecoflow, and Pecron as...

power options for our camping setup.

In general, plan on 30-65W usage for a fridge. Depending on size, insulation, ambient temp, etc. The compressor won't run full time, or as often in cold weather as hot, or if insulated, or if all items inside are loaded up cold/frozen, etc. Also the temp you cool to, 34F vs 38F fridge, 0F...

Portable power station to power trailer systems??

I agree on the Lithium chargers. I kike the Victron IP67, because you can go in and set every possible voltage and time for the recharge to perfectly match your battery. Bulk voltage, fliat voltage, topoff, storage, maintenance... all can be slightly different in various LFPs.

Portable power station to power trailer systems??

Go to the Will Prowse DIY SOLAR forums, and read the sub forum on diy battery banks. Best info source on web by far. Seems general concensus is prices have dropped so much that diy cell build not worth it unless looking for something nonstandard in total capacity or shape. I mean, Lifepo4...

    Let them eat SPAM!

I was just there in March, driving pretty dang close to the pens. Man, that place was deserted, I putzed around for an hour along all the shore roads, didn't see anyone else driving, let alone security forces telling me to move along lol. Had decent food at Restaurant 604 under bridge, and...
