Hello! Has anyone ran sections of the WABDR in October? Putting a trip together, and mid October seems to be the only availability, so interested to see if that will be too close to winter conditions, or if others have been fine historically.
Just completed a partial WABDR run from Stevenson to Ardenvoir 6/30-7/4 2022 with a great group of fellow OB members. The roads in general were pretty dusty, so maybe bring an extra air filter or have the ability to blow it out.. There were some pretty substantial snow patches that swallowed a...

Come explore Washington's great outdoors. The WABDR is a 575 mile route through scenic Washington. We start in Stevenson Wa. near the Bridge of the Gods and drive North through the lush green southern forests. Near Yakima we cross over the Cascades and venture into he high deserts and warn sunny...
***Rally is delayed so we will modify this trip to exclude the Rally. Also adding more slots due to high level of interest. We will likely have a group that continues on to complete the whole BDR. Stay tuned for updates. *** We are exploring the first 3 sections of the Washington Backcountry...
Hey folks,
I'm thinking of doing WABDR section 4 and 5 after the NorthWest Overland Rally in June.
Who would be interested?
Anyone know if snow will be a problem in late June?
Cheers!

Looking at completing the WABDR sections 5 and 6 with maybe a small part of section 4. We will be coming from Canada and staying the night in Seattle before hand. Does anyone have any tips? I think we need a USFS permit for some of the camping in the foresty areas. I was going to use a couple of...
Our group finally completed the WABDR last weekend. It just took us nearly 3 years to from start to finish. Completed two sections at a time every July, beginning with sections 1 and 2 in July 2017, sections 3 and 4 in 2018, and finally 5 and 6 in July 2019.
Our core group consisted of my 5th...

Hey all! So a friend of mine from work (Raptor Driver) were talking about the WABDR and plan to run a 3-4 day section of it over the 4th of July. I've never planned a route like this before and would like some input from the pros! Our goals on this trip are to 1. Stay off road as much as...
I know this is being posted a little early, but I really like to work on logistics.
I may not be living in WA much into the summer and I’ve got some time (a couple weeks off work) late spring/early summer.
So, based on people that have made this run at various times of the year, when is the...
