Here's a time lapse video of me putting away my Mt. Shasta CVT on my Humvee trailer. No real reason other than I was playing around with the GoPro today.
Our ARB packing technique could best be described as "pile it into the fridge." We end up with things buried deep in the bottom of the fridge, bags leaking, things thawing, and in general it kindof turns into a mess by the end of the trip. What I think I need is a system of watertight vertical...
With the trailer directly behind my truck the swing away tire carrier runs into the lever to which the emergency brake cable attaches. I'd like to be able to swing the tire carrier out all the way regardless of how the trailer is angled.
Would the best way to solve this be to get a different...
I love cooking in cast iron and always take a skillet with me on trips. I have a rag dedicated to washing it, otherwise I go through the paper towels like there's no tomorrow.
Just wondering if anyone has any good techniques for storing and traveling with your cast iron. Even when I try to...
I ended up going by myself this year and as a result don't have any photos of my own truck on the challenge course. If you have any good shots of my '96 Hummer wagon on that course would you mind sharing them with me?
Thanks!

At a local tractor supply store I saw a 10,000lb Traveller winch for $399. I've never heard of that brand before. Anyone here have experience with them?
Just curious which gear you make available to reach right from your driver's seat. Here's my list of things I'm working on making readily available.
- water
- food
- fire extinguisher
- 2 way radio(s)
- flashlight
- knife
- pistol
Anything else you like to have at hand?
Anyone out there know what would cause one of the LED segments on the number display of an ARB fridge to stop working? And even better, how to fix it? The fridge otherwise seems to be functioning normally. Just the bottom LED segment on the first number doesn't light up any longer so a 3 looks...
Could some of you videographers out there recommend a good microphone to use with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver? I am looking for something that would be suitable for doing rig walkaround type of videos as well as just speaking-to-the-camera outdoor videos where I don't need to pick up the sound of...
I'm looking for any version of the iPad mini with GPS for running Hema Maps. Needs to be in perfect working condition, but I don't mind scrapes or scratches in the case.
I'm thinking it would be very convenient, every once in a while, to be able to get OTA television while on/off the road. Does anyone have some kind of solution for this that works on your overland rig? Something small that feeds video to an iPad or smartphone would be ideal.
Thanks,

I have a CVT Mt. Shasta with the annex. I'm wondering if a Mr. Heater would sufficiently and safely heat the annex and the sleeping area of the tent overnight in subfreezing weather. Is there a good reason to not use a Mr. Heater in a CVT or is there a better heating solution?
Thanks for any...

Haven't done much modification to this other than have a custom rack built for my CVT tent. Not sure yet if I want to do some kind of enclosed bed cover or just use the trailer like a pickup bed. Would love to see other M1101...
My wife and I are looking for some areas to enjoy on the Olympic Peninsula next week. We'd like to take our dog and find space for him to run. Are there any good dispersed camping areas that aren't in the National Parks that we should visit?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
-Matt
