Sounds good to me. I'm good with any camp spot. If there is a free site off of the trail that's open for use, then why not! I may be getting the entire day off of work on Friday (if I get called into work tomorrow), so I may even head up early and meet up with @Bennett and anyone else that heads...
The earliest I can head out is around 6pm as I finish work at 5:45pm that day. I think heading down to Woodbridge will be pretty bad from Springfield at that hour. How about we meet somewhere off of 66 since we're both going to have to merge onto 66 somewhere down the line (I'm guessing...
I believe @Bennett mentioned that he is heading into the campsite early, if you want to coordinate a meet up with him before rolling into the campsite.
I'll be attending the flagpole trip. I'll head out on Friday evening, staying the night and running the trail Saturday. I have a conflict on Sunday, so I'll be leaving after the Saturday trip.
@geekyadam, @wk2blackpearl, and anyone else that plan to leave on Friday night let me know if you...
Unless we find paid campgrounds around the area the ones off of flagpole are free and can't guarantee to be open. FYI, If you are using my *.gpx I started recoding at the nearby Sheetz.

Once I get a better idea as to how my schedule will look like, I'll let you guys know if I can make it. I'm not a fan of Route 66 at 5pm so I am leaning towards joining you guys on Saturday of that weekend.

Yes, definitely recommend the diff breather mod. I used this youtube video. Found it to be the most detailed explanation on how to perform the mod on the current generation Tacomas.
Few things I left out.
Flagpole was about 2.5-3 hours to get to from Springfield, VA and is dog friendly.
Big levels was 2.5 hours to get to from Springfield, VA and is also dog friendly.
I recommend a diff breather for both flagpole and big levels.
@geekyadam
Here are some suggestions for the September trip. I'll share my experiences and the maps I recorded.
Green ridge state forest - this place has a lot of camp sites available and have easier trails to a little tougher trails that are rutted out. There are some overlooks and stream...
Welcome to the forum @John6! I haven't been on any trips with the OB members that lasted more than a couple of days (with the exception of one large hosted event; it's been mostly weekend trips. With that being said, I am open to longer trips with sufficient notice. It's an idea that some of the...
Distance wise, it's probably similar to going to the mountains (maybe 20-30 minutes longer) as @WK2EcoD mentioned. I wouldn't have suggested it during the summer time as it's full of families and college students. With the beaches limiting the people that are allowed, it would have been near...
Aside from the pros already mentioned in the previous replies, 4Runners have a shorter wheelbase, better driving positions and backseats are more pleasant for the passengers.
As Murphy mentioned, the bed of a pick up is very useful. I find when I pack up in the morning when my gear is damp and...
Today's ride was awesome. Thank you Terry and Bob for organizing/leading such a large group. It was great to meet everyone and put some faces behind the forum avatars. Looking forward to the next event!
Alarm is set and ready to head out in the morning. Since I am coming from NoVA, I will meet you guys at B&R. It will be a 1 day trail ride for me, so no camping. Excited to meet fellow OB members from Eastern VA!
I have a hard time swallowing the price tag of the leading products such as MaxTrax and Treds. However, I will say that innovators of such products will have a larger overhead in terms of design, testing, QA, and so on when producing these products and therefore those costs are passed down to...
