They come on with approximately 5 gallons left, or 100 miles (per factory MPG's estimation).
Rotopax gas cans are where it's at. And that mount system... OHHH girrrrlllllll https://rotopax.com/
Snazzy and clever. I think I'm just gonna sell one of my vehicles and keep the trickles on the non DD's. I think a permanently hooked charger would cost me car show points on the Z, and I probably won't have room in the X.
So you mean you plug the truck into the wall, vs hooking a charger up to the truck?
I have 4 vehicles presently so I'm always moving my chargers around. :-/
How do you get google maps offline? That'd be fantastic as I've yet to find a decent app where I can upload GPS routes from another source and save for offline use (though I do plan on getting gaia, as what i've read, it does this)
Memphis, Oxford, I'm in Conway (Suburb of LR, AR). This past year was the first year I didn't go to every Ole Miss home football game, but the prior 3 years before that I went to every single one, so I'm somewhat familiar the MS area as far as the highways and getting to Oxford (probably a...
Make sure you do your research on the oddessey batteries before you get them. Especially if you aren't starting your vehicle for a few days at a time, which it sounds like you are. From what I've gathered on the Xterra forums, it's hard for stock charging systems to charge them fully, and it...
xterra fuel tank is a 21.1 gallons. How much fuel is enough is why you need to map your route out first. I'd rather have fuel than water to be honest.... But I use the sawyer mini for emergency water which should last my whole life time and then some (assuming it filter's the accurate 100k...
Bluesea FTW. Their 12 circuit fuse blocks are also amazing for wiring different things as well, such as your air compressors, inverters, different light bars, etc. Run 1 power wire through the fire wall to the fuse block, mount your relays and go! I wish the xterra had an easy "add a battery" kit.
"I do know I need to clean the battery cables and posts which I will do but does anyone have any ideas what would have caused this issue in the desert?"
Clean your cables and terminal posts. If that needs to be done anyways, do it first. One of my Z's wouldn't start once. I checked everything...
I'd be interested in joining you on the East OK through West AR portion.
That would be very cool having different people from OB run different portions with you.
I use maps.me and maplets. Maplets is cool because if you submit them a JPG/PDF / (really anything I guess) of a map, they will make it available for download for offline use. Usually takes about 4 - 5 days for the map to show up to download.

Well, went a head and purchased the "ultimate membership package". Looking forward to getting my member # so I can upgrade my forum account, and really looking forward to the member map.
New member in Central AR. The hunt for other overland / wheelers has been long and hard here. As most people around here do the whole "muddin" thing. Finally stumbled accross this forum while googling the Ozark Highlands trail.
Novice overlander, very experienced camper though.
Spend most of...
