Wow, that's so cool! I'm so glad you enjoyed the trip report. Have you been up to the old house in Alice Arm at all? I'm guessing the old house is in a state of decay, unfortunately. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend the trip. One of the most beautiful places on earth :)
Feel free to...
You're kind of indirectly proving his point, though - that the majority of shooters are in fact criminals.
Criminals involved in domestic violence, as it turns out.
The stats about the race of the perpetrators probably don't mean much of anything if you consider them alongside the demographic...
Not to mention that numerous mass shootings, or what would have been, have been ended swiftly by an armed citizen before the cops ever arrived. That right there is plenty of reason to support concealed carry by law abiding citizens.
Hey, I'm almost positive I saw you rig at BCOR in 2019, camped not far from me. Also, you live about 20 minutes from me currently, if your location is correct! Sweet looking rig.
As it's my solemn duty to present the "ghetto" bargain basement option when it comes to overlanding, I present to you, the classic Coleman 2 burner:
I picked it up on Facebook Marketplace for $20 canuck bucks and I've used it for years in all kinds of weather and locations with zero problems...
I made a minor improvement to one of my side bins today, adding a shelf in the middle. It's about half the depth of the bin. I may try using this bin to hold my camp kitchen stuff, but even if I don't end up going with that setup, the shelf is really nice to have.
That new BC Discovery tool is neat! I moved from BC the summer before last, so I wasn't aware of it. I always used the interactive land use map, which does load a little bit faster, and can be found here...
I hope some day I can afford one. Absolutely love the Grenadier and the philosophy behind it. Incidentally, Toyota recently announced they're releasing a brand new $10,000 modular pickup truck aimed at business and trades use, however one of their concept art pieces showed a pretty sick overland...
Got the uprights swapped over today with the help of a neighbor and a couple of very tall homemade sawhorses I had around. Just put the saw horses in the bed to support the tent and the top of the bed rack, then unbolted the uprights and swapped sides, then bolted it all back together.
Took a...
See, this is the kind of thing I like to see, and the kind of response we as taxpaying citizens of our respective countries need to demand from our public SERVANTS. No, closing off access is NOT acceptable. It is NOT acceptable to punish the vast majority who are actually trying to solve the...
That tower looks like something right out of Lord of the Rings. Awesome! The spanish moss never fails to bring back fond memories of my time in Savannah, GA, although the weather was miserably muggy for my Canadian self lol Thanks for sharing!
It's extremely frustrating, no question. Virtually every time I go in the woods I come out with a load of other people's trash.
It could make a person throw up his hands in despair, but I prefer to try to be the change I want to see instead. Grassroots organizations like ours have had great...
Looks like an opportunity for a big group of OB members from the area to organize a cleanup. BC 4wd Association has had great success in organizing cleanups of this magnitude several times and would be happy to share info and tips that might be useful.
This is a tragedy, and it is despicable...
This is awesome, thanks! I assume the helper springs also decrease the saggy butt effect as well?
Looks like the perfect solution for me. Very affordable.
Nice! I had a heck of a time trying to find factory tow hooks for mine, so I had to just drill and bolt in some rated recovery hooks to the frame. Could you by chance provide a link to the helper springs you used? Mine needs them desperately.
Here's the link, just scroll down a bit and the fellow did a full write up with pics on his winch mount setup: good place to mount a winch? - DodgeForum.com
Updated photo showing the repaired body damange. Pic taken on our expedition to the Rockies Sept 2023:
Far from body shop perfect, but it's way less noticeable and won't rust away now.
My text task is going to be to disassemble the bed rack and swap the uprights from side to side, so that...
