    M1102 Trailer Build

With most of the welding done I decided to take the trailer for a light trail run. The added weight of the rack makes the on-road and off-road ride much better, a lot less bouncing around. One half of me wants to build the storage boxes and get the tent mounted to the rack for a few test runs...

    M1102 Trailer Build

Getting the plasma cutter turned into quite the adventure. The first manufacturer guaranteed a delivery of 4-6 weeks, after a month of waiting and another month of back-and-forth with them they just flat out said they weren't going to deliver. I try to support local AZ businesses whenever...

    Light tower conversion build

Really great build and creative use of that utility trailer. I love the license plate!

    M1102 Trailer Build

Second time did the trick and all the holes in the corner plates and side brackets align properly. The M1102 has two sets of Rivnuts ( 3/8-16 Threads) on either side of the trailer but not in the position I need them in, so I'm going to have to add one additional set per side in the middle for...

US West Death Valley Photography Trip February 24-28th, 2021 (rescheduled)

I'm interested as long as people don't mind me taking tons of Astrophotos at night

    M1102 Trailer Build

Cut a template for the mounting plates to check the fitment. Need to adjust some dimensions for the second set of screws, but that's why you cut templates out of cheap materials first.

    M1102 Trailer Build

Picked up the trailer over the weekend, in phenomenal condition. They kept it in a garage and it's only purpose was to tow their kayak to the lake, It's one of those motorized kayaks with a small jetski engine so I'm pretty sure they scared themselves with the kayak early on and then never used...

    M1102 Trailer Build

@smritte Yeah I'm planning to tack weld the structure and then get the tent set up to test the ladder height before I get everything fully welded. I have 2 10'x10' pop up canopies so I'll probably bring those along until I figure out if I actually need a batwing or not. What CAD software are you...

    Fake Rigid lights?

We used to carry Rigid lighting at one of my previous companies and their products were always fairly spotless cosmetically out of the box. Aside from what appears to be loose fasteners holding the side plates, it looks like the seal around where the cable comes out of the Light bar is out of...

    M1102 Trailer Build

Living in Arizona one of my hobbies is getting out into the wild to take photos, primarily astrophotography (Can't share those photos on the forums as the files are too big). There are plenty of locations I've only ever traveled to in the dark, the first several times I went to the Grand Canyon...

    Overland Bound Fire Pit

@OTH Overland I have a CNC plasma on the way. Depending on the geometry of the small features I might be able to cut it.

The most spectacular picture you've ever taken...

Took this one of the bighorn fire in Tucson AZ this year, the forest service closed catalina state park but we were able to find some dirt trails to get a good view. The panoramas with the milky way from this location are too big too upload... I can shrink them down if anyone is interested.

Roof Rack DIY Scene Light Pods

Nice work! I'm assuming you plan to make them out of ABS once the design is dialed in so they don't warp from the sunlight/summer heat? If so you might want to check out vapor polishing with acetone for that if you want a really nice smooth finish for painting, although I'm always a fan of the...

    Modular Propane Tank Mounts

@County_One_Ten - Good tip, thank you! I was going to possibly use something like these, not too bad on the price at $1.80ea. @RoarinRow - Nice looking mount! How are you liking those rotopax fuel tanks? I'm trying to decide between using those larger rotopax or going with a few jerry cans...

    Modular Propane Tank Mounts

Working on a M1102 trailer build and trying to figure out a good way to mount propane tanks. Modeled these after the Power Tank brand style mounts. Planning to cut the flat pattern on my CNC plasma with a few stitch welds once everything is bent. Tracking down some T-bolt clamps the right size...

    Auxiliary power set up

Of course! These types of connectors work well for quick connections, not quite enough solder for larger gauge wires but they are great for in-field repairs. Just need a heat gun or lighter. Might be a good addition to the toolbox to repair or extend your harnesses without a soldering iron...

    Auxiliary power set up

You shouldn't have a problem with double fuses, the one with a lower current limit will burn out first if there is a short. Just make sure to size the fuses appropriately for each device branched off the main circuit. Edit: If you are in-line fusing specific devices just keep track of where all...
