After much deliberation and consternation on what kind of reserve gas source to go with I finally made a decision and went out and bought a 3 gallon rotopax and installed it.
3 gallon Rotopax arrived today. Here it is installed. Really starting to enjoy this setup. Also I have attached a photo of the Cab ceiling where a few weekends ago my son and I spent some time putting up our patches that we have collected over the years. Some from our adventures but most...
It has taken a while to get a pic of them together as they are normally running the house and the trail but here is Rex and Kip or Overland Doodles, or as we like to call them the terrible duo oodles of doodles.
First of all, great thread, thanks @Raul B . For a long time I was a die hard DSLR guy but due to many technological advances with media, mirrorless and my style (getting older sometimes warrants lighter gear). Given that I have made some adjustments to my kit. I use to have a D800e and a...
ooo - I like the grey or is that green shirt. Darn I should of got that one instead of the black, oh well maybe I can get approved to buy another one from the wife.
Welcome to the crew.
Honestly probably not as good at a Toyo but not sure anything is. The truck has been around for about 10 years and has become a staple in the Chevy/GMC line. Most of the truck reviewers are also preferring it over the Tacoma ( not trying to start a war for Tacoma lovers ). I have looked a...
If you can afford it I would highly recommend the Leitner Designs Active Cargo system. Very configurable. I just put one on my Ranger and went with this rack over a custom built and others due to the numerous options it offers. I suggest you talk to @raul with https://xpeditionoutfitters.com/...
Welcome to the group from #7371. If you get a chance get check out the Northwest team on their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/OverlandBoundNorthwest/?ref=bookmarks
I like that design, possibly for support you could use aluminum beams that slide into some kind of a sleeve that was rigged to the vehicle. The rear extension would be the length of the roof rack and the side extension would be the width of the roof rack maybe a bit longer to create a kind of...
I recommend Toyo Back Country Mud Terrains. They are the same spec as the Cooper Discovery SST Pro. Great on the trails and not too much road noise while on Tarmac. The Coopers are actually made from the Toyo spec.

Woke up yesterday and decided to go out and scout out some trails with my son. We went in search of Crabtree lake. It is in the Middle Santiam Wilderness between Green Peter and Detroit lake. This route took about 3.5 hours round trip and made for some good fishing once we arrived. The road...
Starting a new thread to track my activities in the Shotgun Creek area between Marcola and Crawfordsville. This is primarily an OHV area but a lot of the trails are Cat II Jeep type trails. I will primarily be using Gaia GPS and some Garmin to track the routes. Most of these are shorter day...
I am in Sweet Home, about Two hours south of your area and there are some great places here to explore. This afternoon I drove from Springfield to most the way home on forest roads with a few sections to OHV trails. Let me know if you are interested in coming out this way and we could schedule...
Okay so we are down to two cots. Still working on the sleeping pads but here is the analysis so far.
The cot choices:
Browning Titan Cot XP - This is a big cot, strudy and a little taller so easier to get from sit to stand. Also fairly easy to put together and the price is right at $89 on...
