    Ram 2500/HQ19 Full-Time

There are 2-3 very trailer friendly spots along the bottom of FS3920 west of 44.60607, -112.99125. Just as it enters national forest, however, it takes a sharp left and starts heading up. You need to turn around at that point as you'll not make it through the switchbacks. This is an extremely...

    ARKTO TRAILERS

So I can’t speak longterm to the inverter or propane usage. I can, comfortably, say we experienced zero dust intrusion into the living quarters and noticed nothing in the cabinets. The seals are really robust. Even after washing it, spraying directly onto the outer storage doors, the seals...

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

Might want to check yourself. Wasn’t responding to you but to MidOH’s post that included yours. That’s how threads work. And my post wasn’t trash talking but simply highlighting the irony.

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

So talking trash and looking down on an entire group because you feel they talk trash and look down upon the simple man. Oh the irony. No toxicity here

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

I've received far more helpful advice, tips, and area knowledge from ExPo than here. This place has its own characters, for sure. ExPo just has more of them which makes sense as there's far more activity and players there <shrug>. It's not hard (in either place) to press the Ignore button.

    ARKTO TRAILERS

Picked ours up on June 2 (yes, Sunday) and rolled out with Aaron for a couple nights of camping just outside of Jasper. I added my post to the thread over on ExPo. Absolutely fantastic and zeeeeeero regrets. The exchange rate (I realize it doesn't apply to you) made it an irresistible buy as no...

    Drones Pics and Videos

Stunning sunset and equally glorious morning sun from a spot just west of Henry's Lake on the Idaho/Montana border. Unlike last year, we didn't have a couple dozen cows come traipsing through camp in the morning.

    Drones Pics and Videos

First night along the Forestry Trunk Road in Alberta, Canada on our way to Edmonton. Snow/sun/snow/sun/snow/sun...was the order of the day, but jaw-dropping views (especially from above) when the skies were clear.

    Drones Pics and Videos

Not a bad place to celebrate one's 23rd wedding anniversary after three+ days schlepping across the country to get there. We'd discovered Morrison Lake west of Lima, MT last year and vowed to spend a few nights there this time around. Glad we got there when we did (May 19) as the ice was nearly...

    Dog Gone, Camping

No offense taken…sorry if it seemed I had. Our rigs are all a compromise, for sure. If anything, I just hope these posts shipped folks the myriad options out there to keep their dogs safe!

    Dog Gone, Camping

I mean…never claimed it’s the best solution for others. Nothing to do with wanting to be like a handler (though I was one). Best solution for what suits us. No passengers and no seats to get messed up when we throw gear in it once at camp. I used to use a Kurgo strap onto my Mal’s harness when...

Any Tips, Tricks or Cautions for Vertically Mounting ROAM/Pelican/etc. Cases?

So space isn’t the issue. I have 2x 4-gal Rotopax and my propane on one swingout. Dimensionally I know I can get a large case on the other one. My concern is whether the case will survive with just bolts and washers with 50 +/- pounds in it. I don’t feel like plunking down a cool grand for a...

    Dealing with other people's nasty

Sadly it's a growing trend...picking up after people. TP does NOT degrade like people think it does, and animals will quickly scatter it. I always have a box or two of nitrile gloves, and, yes, baggies. Whether it's for used TP, general garbage pick-up, food safety, checking the oil, etc...

Any Tips, Tricks or Cautions for Vertically Mounting ROAM/Pelican/etc. Cases?

I have an Expedition One, dual-swingout bumper on the back of our Power Wagon. In an effort to relocate stuff like recovery gear out of the camper and free up space for other stuff, I'm thinking of mounting a large case (test fitting stuff in a buddy's ROAM 165L) to one of the swingouts...

You just buy the equipment once. There’s no subscription as you’re not using any infrastructure or service. Other than your cellular provider, obviously.

Opinions wanted on practicality of towing a trailer.

Short answer? I sure wouldn't. 500 lbs in the Pathy? That including the "we" and everything else in there? A quick search reveals a half-decent payload (more than I figured, honestly), but 400+ of that will be taken up by the tongue weight of a 4100-lb loaded trailer. So, realistically, you're...

    What’s your view this morning?

I'd take a pic...but then would get walked out for having my phone in the building. Assuming it's not still covered in snow, this'll be the morning view May 21st, though.

Sure thing! We use one in our camper and I’ll, likely, swap to the interior RV antenna. It’s fine if I’m just using the phone as a hot spot as I can leave it there. But if using my phone I have to move the antenna around or sit in a particular spot.

It'll work just fine. Just beware that the small antennas meant to stick on a headrest or something have a really limited range. You pretty much have to be right on top of it, which should be easy enough to do in an RTT. Don't expect to be sitting outside of it and see any signal, however.
