Before my most recent trip, I got to install a couple of new things. First was the lower front protection from Chiefs. In the last photo, you can see where the sump plate took a big rock hit from that first trip.
And lastly added a go pro mount and camp floodlight from Front Runner. Used the...
Looming in the near future was my first overlanding trip. So it was time to think about cargo storage. The tie-down rings in the cargo area can't support much weight. So I installed some steel rings onto the body bolts and use straps to secure the Pelican cooler and Front Runner Wolf Pack...
At this point I had a few more mods I wanted to do. But I had taken her out on a few trails and was pretty happy with the vehicle. But then through googling and talking to a few people I discovered this new to me term called "Overlanding". So I found inspiring sites like this and then the mod...
Back in 2015, I was tired of driving my truck on the long daily commute to and from downtown LA. And my wife was even more tired of me using her car. My truck was an '03 and hers was an '08. So we had enjoyed being without payments for quite some time. But it was finally time for something new...
Since you're mentioning storing a spare tire, might I suggest looking into a hitchgate? Getting a heavy spare off of the roof wouldn't be fun. I have a rotopax and tire mounted on my Wilco Hitchgate Solo. And it also has a slot for a Hi-Lift, as well. You could also strap traction mats onto the...
The 2N02 (Burns Canyon Road) offers some great views, doesn't it? For some added fun, take the 2N70Y (Sidewinder Canyon) offshoot when you're heading up from Pioneertown.
Thank you! I have the Wilco Hitchgate Solo which carries the tire and my 3.5g FuelpaX. It also has a space to mount a Hi-Lift jack. And the roof rack is the Slimline II by Front Runner which is a full rack system that replaces the stock rails. And besides all of the great accessories they make...
Thanks! It has the QL. So unfortunately, no lift kit can be had. And right now it's just sitting on stock size 265x60R18 Duratracs. Going to try and stuff some 32's in there in the near future.
Here is my 2015 Overland. And as fritts mentioned above, the Australian aftermarket is better. The is just no demand here. What kind of aftermarket upgrades are you looking for?
Did you install the sliders yet? It's a little time consuming to get them on there. But they are worth it. I love mine and they have saved me a couple of times.
There are alot of awesome Jeeps in here! Let me introduce another one of the seldom seen Overland platforms...my 2015 WK2, which has served me well. It has performed admirably despite not having much flex and smallish tires. And it also doubles as my 80 mile daily commuter.
Tell you what...I'm looking at a pic of my 2015 WK2 and the lower valence looks like it takes up more space in height of the overall bumper than yours does. I'd be willing to bet that Jeep changed that for the 2017 model and Bushwacker didn't account for that. Hopefully that makes sense.
