Any good Trail off Hwy 395? “Ca”

Tons of trails in that area, but many (most) will be closed because of snow. Check out Buttermilks near Bishop and also drive up to Ancient Bristlecone - lots of trails up there that will likely be snow-free (take pretty much any dirt road - all on the MVUM...). Enjoy - epic area!

    Inyo National Forest in April??

Coyote Flat will be completely impassable at that time. You should be fine in the lower elevations around Bishop, Lone Pine, Big Pine, etc., so check out Alabama Hills, Buttermilks (probably need snow tires), Ancient Bristle Cone, etc. Or hit the desert - there’ll be lots to explore in Death Valley

    LT265/65R18/E KO2 vs 265/65R18/SL Wildpeaks - sidewall strenght?

Hi folks - thanks for the insights. The LT version of the Wildpeaks would have been great, but unfortunately they don't have that version in the size I'm after - I can't fit an aspect ratio higher than 65 or width more than 265 without having some rubbing issues and/or inability to carry the...

    LT265/65R18/E KO2 vs 265/65R18/SL Wildpeaks - sidewall strenght?

Hi all, I'm going to change the OEM Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire (265/60R18/SL) on my 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and I'm looking to get a slightly bigger (65) tire with a stronger sidewall - issue being that the trails I run in the Sierra (e.g., Coyote Flat) keep...

    Rigid Lights for WK2?

Hi all, I'm looking to install a couple of Rigid D-series Pro on my 2017 GC Trailhawk using the following bracket: https://www.4x4fabworks.com/collections/light-mounting-brackets/products/11-18-jeep-grand-cherokee-wk2-d-series-grille-mounting-bracket-10j029?variant=15873610055754 This means...

Coyote flats curious, Alabama Hills success

Getting to funnel lake is tough, but it's one of the side-trails off coyote flats, so you don't need to drive there to get to the flats. Your main challenge is going to be the switchbacks going up from Bishop since they're fairly tight in places - I'm sure you'll be fine in an F150 though (as...

Front camera install on Grand Cherokee?

Yeah, I'd probably turn the system on and off via the monitor that plugs into the 12V in the car. For the camera, where would I be able to draw 12V to the camera? I'll probably also install a rocker switch in the engine compartment so I can switch off the system completely.

Front camera install on Grand Cherokee?

I'm thinking maybe something like this - a wireless license plate camera: https://amzn.to/2lu8Kms The problem here is that the camera needs a live wire, and I'm honestly not sure how to do that, but surely there must be an easy way? Hook it into the front lights?

Front camera install on Grand Cherokee?

It's possible to feed it directly to the UConnect with e.g., one of these guys: https://www.coastaletech.com/uconnectairv2.htm But it looks bloody complicated to me - and not quite sure if it'll continue to work if te UConnect software gets updated - or if it interferes with normal operation...

Front camera install on Grand Cherokee?

Hi all, I have been toying around with the idea of installing a front-facing camera to help with navigation when driving off-road. I find myself on a lot of steep hills looking at the beautiful hood of my 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, but sometimes it'd be great to have a sense of what might...

Newbie From Denmark in the new Jimny

@raLLe, gotta be Rasmus, huh? Fellow Dane here, but located in San Diego and sporting a Grand Cherokee - which probably wouldn't be the best choice for Copenhagen ;).

    Chief guard MPG drop?

Hi all, I’m planning on installing the Chief lower front guard once they’re back in stock, but I was wondering if any of you might know how much it’ll decrease my MPG if I leave the front fascia off? (vs. putting the fascia back on over the guard for normal driving - but then I have to remove...
