Very anxious to get out again. The family atleast entertained the idea of camping here. I hope to get back to the area near the end of February. Will be coming in down by Potters Mills coming in on sand Mountain Rd and starting the campsite scouting at site 48.
And then we came down to the intersection right at Interstate 80. You can see the tractor trailer going past.
This is the road that then runs parallel with interstate 80 until you come to exit 99 at mill run rd
Then onto the next intersection and onto Duncan Trail. This is the only drivable trail we saw. It looks like fun...but it was 1738 when we got there and darkness was setting in. The family wanted to get back to the pool at the hotel, so for another day.
Looks awesome though.
Trip report. Objective was to show the family what a motorized campsite was. We were in Lewisburg, PA at the childrens museum. I set the GPS to go to the town of Forest Hill. Then slowly made my way on Rt 192 until I saw Cooper Mill Rd.
Note: there are a few private lanes from Forest Hill to...
So, we made it onto Cooper Mill Rd off of
Rt 192 and followed it to interstate 80. We left the Forest at exit 199 of 80.
We saw the vista and motorized camping sites 8 and 9.
We checked out where Duncan trail starts/ends.
Will explain further in my Bald Eagle specific thread.
@riss800 is that Negro hollow rd in the pics?
It seems that coming into the Mill Run rd exit of 80 and then heading south is probably the easiest and quickest way into the forest for someone who is coming to the area via interstate 80.
There is gas to be had on 80 or in the little towns on...
Interesting. I have no idea how those pictures came out like that. They do not look like that on my phone and I didn't take any pictures of RAM trucks at a gas station.
So I got there today. Drove from route 192 north to interstate 80 and hit 2 of the motorized camping sites.
Check my Bald Eagle State Forest thread for a full report.
I GOT TIRES IN MUD/SNOW AT BESF.
More to come, when I get a chance. But here is a trail shot of the Forest roads and the opening to Duncan trail.
@LGlx Duncan trail looks like a lot of fun.
The gamelands open up from September to February. They make for some good shakedown trips and just some quality time out doors. We try to put tires in the mud every weekend.
I am hoping to possibly scout some campsites at BESF this weekend...if the family and time cooperate.
I hope to hit...
Just to be sure it is understood...my trail report will be from gamelands that are southwest of Bald Eagle.
So I figured I should share a map of this area.
Recieved my maps and information. Can not wait to head off to here. Still a bit confused as I didn't see a motorized camping map...but I just glanced through it so hopefully I missed it.
