    Covid interrupted.

Glad you made it back OK. Dementia sufferers treated as witches is heartbreaking. Presumably there are education programmes being initiated?

The ARB compressor is mounted behind the rear seats. Out of the way, protected from the elements and heat, and close to the rear diff air locker to reduce hose length and snagging risk. The cargo guard being half height is also very versatile. The lantern usually swings from the cargo net for...

Cargo net and pet hammock combo excellent for safe storage on the back seat. Un-clip from the headrests and turn into a seat cover as the seat belt buckles fit through slots. The cargo net is great for storing bedding or jackets. If we have passengers it just un-clips and rolls away or holds...

Thule 838 canoe tie downs work great as temporary limb risers through wooded sections. Just hook to the winch plate and roof rack and ratchet tight. Prevents branches getting wedged under the roofrack.

    2021 Bronco

Yeah. Funny how all the hate for independent front and solid rear turned into love with this one. Great combination for overlanding. Never was a fan of head toss and the wander of recirculating ball. Great they designed in 35" tyres.

I've put up a build thread with more WK outfitting ideas Sean. The Core 4x4 control arms look good. Are you happy with them? Which version do you have please? Thanks.

I have now figured out a way to sleep two and a staffy in the vehicle with everything still inside for total stealth if needed, or if its too damn cold for a tent. Very handy for when you can't find an official campsite in urban areas. Sometimes its better to gather some highway miles through...

Gas Lantern or Battery powered Lantern?

I bought a set from Hard Korr Lighting Australia. They have dimmers and even motion sensors. The orange versions don't attract bugs so much and switch between orange and white depending on your needs. I think they have a USA outlet?

Gas Lantern or Battery powered Lantern?

I use magnetic LEDs now: a 5 bar Hard Korr lighting kit run from my powerpack, and a globe that also acts as a strobe and powerpack. Three of the lightbars are bright white and two switch between orange or white. Orange is nice and relaxing and doesn't attract bugs. Only draws about 2 amps. I...

Jump Box, Jumper Cables or Both?

I just carry the GB70 now. It holds a charge well, but good idea to check capacity, especially if using it as a power pack, it soon runs down if you charge a phone from it. Even when I carried cables, the issue was positioning with second vehicle when parked the wrong way for hood access. And...

    The Black Pearl

During routine checks and maintenance, I was thinking about wheel studs coming lose, especially after trail use. Rather than go around checking every stud with a wrench, there are simpler ways. Best way to keep a RTT warm in the winter.

I think it has more to do with being run high or low than cycling per se. Running low will risk coking up. Easliy resolved with a strip down and scrub... but not when shivering with frozen fingers. I suppose turning up the heat for a few minutes before switching off might help.

    Recovery gear

Yeah thats my point really. You have to know if your winch is up to the job with the vehicle you have, and resolve any issues with approriate gear accordingly. I'm not sure what amps a Disco 1 alternator puts out. Older vehicles not much. Check the amp draw per wrap of rope. Double line...
