Got the hood painted. It didn't turn out the way i thought but it doesn't look bad so ill leave it for a while.
Next project on my list are to drill and re tap the skid plate holes for the stock skids. They all broke off last time i took them off. Never had to do this but ill give it a shot...
Put down primer on the hood and my winch showed up today! So i slipped that it in. I got it wired up. I have the solinord box just temporarily mounted. Until i decided where i want to put it. I might extend the wires so i can put it under the hood. Not sure thats needed. Some time this week im...
I got the herculiner all peeled off now. Just need to sand and paint.
Im going with an engo 9,000lb. With synthetic line. It had some good reviews and a decent price.

Started a new project. I want to repaint my hood to just a matte bedliner and get rid of the herculiner. Now that i have a hefty bumper that is powder coated all the herculiner is gone on the front except the hood.
The herculiner was good. It looked awesome because of the texture. My problem...
Thanks for the concern! I already am bypassed! I also added a fan that i can switch on when moving slow. I monitor my transmission temps through a bulldog tuner. I have a secondary cooler to add one day but i havent had too many issues with high temps.

I will get some pics up once its installed. I decided to get it without the tubes that come up to protect the lights just because i like the way it looks and don't see to many that way. I might one day wish i had the protection but i don't think ill regret my decision.
Did i just jinx...
I went with steel. When i did my suspension last summer i got the stiffer coils for when i added a steel bumper. I probably would have been fine withe the normal ones though. I love the AT2s. I was on the fence with the K02s
I heard a lot of great things about both but noticed everyone was on...
Picked up my heftyfabworks bumper from fed ex! It was well worth the wait. I have an Engo winch on the way and im hoping to get this installed sometime over the weekend.

I like the "backcountry pantry" brand
They meals are good in my opinion and they are packaged more flat and not a pear like bag or brick. When hiking they fit nicely in my packs and in the rig I keep some with emergency supplies that always stay with the rig. I use to pack only dehydrated type...
Awesome! Have a safe trip when you go!
I have a job interview today that will hopefully get me back out in that general area.
Also here is a little video i made on my trip on the Burr Trail.
I'm from NJ. Well sorta.
I grew up here and am currently staying in Vineland area. I moved out of Jersey six years ago and have been hopping around and working in some national parks in the Southwest US. Ive spent most of my time at the Grand Canyon and southern Utah. Thats where I got into...
On my first rig (91 pathfinder) something happened where you couldn't get it out of park unless you held down this little. Button at the bottom of the shifter. Its one of those little buttons to put it in neutral when there is no key in the ignition. So you needed both hands to get it in drive...
Types of Hypothermia
Subacute/Mountain/Accidental Hypothermia
This is the most common type of hypothermia, and the condition typically develops over just a few hours.
It is often the result of a mishap (e.g., getting benighted on a winter hike), accident (e.g., broken ankle while ice climbing)...
Hypothermia
Today I would like to talk about Hypothermia. Hypothermia is the lowering of the body's core temperature to a level where normal brain and muscle functions are impaired. It typically happens when several things occur simultaneously: low temperatures (<40F/4.5C), wet conditions...
Great information! I have a front bumper in order that can hold a winch and am planning on upping my recovery game. I have always been a little unsure about these. I have a tow strap but only used it twice.
