Glad they're not rattling.
I had things pretty tight as well, though I was only using a couple of long bolts, big washers, and wing nuts to clamp it down to the rack in two points. Now I'm using a couple of straps that are easier on/off and spread the force to hold them down across the length...
Any noise or rattles from the traction aids on the metal? I ended up using a rubber strip between my rack and what I have to keep it from rattling.
I am using a resin based grid/flooring material with a gritted surface from American Grating. It's 2 inch square, 2 inch thick, and can support...
Totally agree.
Especially with Canon. You can shoot the expensive lenses on many of the consumer bodies and get some great results.
I love that other direction too, using older EOS lenses on current bodies. I have a couple of cheap consumer lenses I bought in I think 91 that I still pull out...
Haha - I hadn't even thought about that part of it. Wow, salt got everywhere I bet. Interesting about the salt versus the mud. Didn't know about those differences. Seems like it would be an interesting and different place to camp.
Understand completely. The 5DS R was a beast of a camera. That was the only full frame I had. I only had it for a little while, and ended up selling it (wish I hadn't, but that's another story altogether) because for most of my needs it was way overkill and I wanted more glass. :)
Thanks for the details. I shoot Canon as well. I have a 7D Mk II now, and the 70-200 2.8. That's my go to lens, though I also like the 16-35.
That 500 f4 must be a sweet lens (and a beast). I used a 100-400, along with a 2x extender to do some lunar photography a couple of years ago. One of my...
Looks like you drove til it was time to stop and just stopped in your tracks. :) I like how your tracks add to that picture.
What was it like camping on the flats open like that? How far into the flats were you? I've not driven on them beyond just a little bit off the highway to see what it...
That's a good idea. Maximize use of space and still gives you a good place for the dogs. I like how you measured their height and built it around them.
Thanks.
Speaking of weight. One thing the smittybilt specs didn't make sense on, weight was something 135 pounds but shipping weight was 50 pounds.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using OB Talk mobile app
Sure looks like it - the Smittybilt 2883 (?) is $1099 and the annex is $299 -- shape and size wise it looks similar to the CVT Mt Shasta tent/annex I have, and at $1400 it's about $250 less than I ended up paying when I got mine on sale 2+ years ago. And they have another tent for $899 without...
