Actually, I think that was the dirt road I was reffering too.. I remember stout grove being part of the dirt road route. So perhaps I was a little confused on where I was at that point.
I know this is an old thread, but the wife and I are looking hard at the 16.7 model. We are finding most of our camping is done in more developed areas, and I'm getting old so I like easy to set up. We will be keeping our bed rack/rtt setup for when the kids get older, so we can have them...
I run a 50 qt fir a family of 4 and for a long weekend of will hold just about everything but its right. I have the room so my next fridge will likely be a dometic 95 qt. My last trip a few weeks ago was for 10 days. We had an ice chest and the fridge, ice chest fir drinks, fridge for food...
After the dirt road, my 5 year old wanted me to teach her the ways of fire building.. I taught her how to use kindling and oxygen to your advantage to get a fire going..
We woke up the next morning and started our 4.5 hour drive over to Lassen Volcanic National Park, where we were meeting my...
Forgot to add, my wife, aka my navigator, found me a dirt road that lead from Brookings, Or to Crescent city, Ca, near our camp site. She knew how much I was itching to get off pavement, so she made it happen. The views and the sheer mass of the redwoods was an awesome experience.

After coffee, I packed up the RTT, and we headed up north about 20 miles from camp, to Brookings, OR. My wife is a book lover, and there was a book store...
After that, we went for our first of many hikes, the Trestle loop trail. It was only about a 1.2 mile hike, but was a nice hike...

That evening, we had no real plans, so we hit the local Mexican food joint, "Perlita's" in Crescent City for dinner, then went back to the camp site for some campfire, stories, and marshmallows...

Every year, My wife, two daughters, and myself decide on where we are going to take our "big" vacation. We usually end up camping, and usually in a national park somewhere. A lifelong goal that the wife and I share is to visit every National Park in the country before we die, so doing our...
Just go for it. I have a friend who camps with her kid in their traverse and they love it. I drive a dodge ram 2500 long bed.. affectionately known by all my camping buddies as either the land yacht or trail limo.. 4 doors and an 8 foot bed, but I love it. It's what I had when I got into the...
I don't know how I am just seeing this thread. My wife, 2 kids and I have been in Reno for about 6 months or so. We live out in cold springs, but I have no issue driving wherever to meet other ob members. I work in sparks, so I'm used to driving.. Glad this was put together.. I was just...
I ran the cooper stt pro as well. Loved them with the exception of snow and ice, imho they sucked on that stuff. They got really loud as the wore out. I am now running Falken AT3W tires and love them so far. I have about 2000 miles on them so far, woth about 350 miles of that on dirt. Great...
I have an arb 50 qt and would never go back to a cooler. The in8tial investment ain't cheap but honestly, totally with it. Heck I had a connection come loose on the main board of the arb during our Mojave road trip. I stopped at target bought ice and turned the arb into a cooler for that...
I agree.. It was a good move on hi lifts part to put it on their website. I'm not saying it wasn't. Good for them. But There is still going to be some biased there. If it had been the same story written in an offroad magazine about the advantages of using a hi lift, to me that would be a...
