We haven't been into the wilderness for a few weekends. Hoping to go see some of the firetowers I noticed on the maps.
I wish I had more time to just travel and enjoy nature. But...got to get stuff done.
From Central Pennsylvania.

If you mean Bald Eagle State Forest. It does not close.
In February or March there is a great possibility of road closures though. Pennsylvania has been getting freezing rain and ice more than a snow pack. And that causes for some very tense moments on a trail.
I did some trail conditions...
I would not be able to attend tomorrow, but with a bit more notice would attempt in the future.
Are you taking a dedicated off road rig or are you wheeling the stock truck you are driving there?
Very interested in the future. Just can not make it tomorrow.
That sounds like a great time to me. Keep us posted on the outcome.
Been explaining stars planets and constellations to my son. He seems interested. But keeping a 7 year old still looking at the sky can be a challenge at times. But he remembers what I tell him.
Hope the sky's are clear...
I see now. You got the GVW number from the internet. My guess is you mean base weight and the internet is giving you the base model.
Like for instance...you the internet for a RAM 1500 it lists 1840 payload. But the avg truck has 1400lb with some limited trucks with RamBox and multi function...
10% is minimum. With a camper...because of the dynamics of the way they are built and the way the cut through the air...just like each vehicle has a specific payload...each camper ultimately has a different tongue weight.
Since you are looking at smaller campers with a short length...you will...
You used the ford as an example. Your numbers are correct. But that is its payload. What the truck can carry.
GVWR minus base weight equals payload
GCWR minus base weight equals towing rating.
Lets do a RAM...cause I know the numbers.
RAM 1500 crew cab 5.7l hemi with 3.92 rear gear 4x4...
The manual has a very interesting explanation.
It is saying 4 passengers as its explanation of towing?.
Interesting. I weigh 300 lbs. So 4 of me is 1200lbs. Interesting. I have no idea how they figure a weight based on passengers. Oh wait...yes i do. In towing literature a passanger is...
My only hope is the Jeep and Bronco continue to be sold in a 2 door and with a manual.
I hope at some point tbe Gladiator can be had as a 2door or even an access cab.
RAM has been listening to social media and following through. Plenty of people wanted the center console and 5 seat...
Another RAM in Bald Eagle. This is always good.
Be sure to check out our threads for Bald Eagle and PA in general.
My truck usually weighs right at 8000lbs heading to camp.
But...my truck works alot and spends many days loaded near Gross of 10k
If you do not have the CAT scale app...it is...
