What part of northern Cali are you from?

So I figured I would start this thread to see where everyone is located in the northern Cali area since it is such a big area! I'll start, I'm from Vacaville.

    Geocaching

Geocaching is a really awesome thing to do! Sometimes the hides can be tough if it is a really small container. But sometimes they are more simple and have more "collectibles" inside. For me and my wife we use a hand held GPS. We just go to the website and load up an area with 1000 caches within...

What tires do you like? (Merged Thread)

I had the nitto terra grappler when I first got my truck and loved them. I went through snow, ice, mud, dirt, and sand with no complaints. When it was time for a new set of wheels I was going to go with the same tires. A buddy talked me into getting a set of wrangler duratracs and I am fairly...

    Weekend wheeling?

Look up a place called "shirttail canyon" I have found it in the book Guide to California backroads and 4-wheel drive trails. It is considered an easy trail (I think more of a fire road)

    Snorkel

Yea @expeditionnorth I did the extension of my breathers as well. For me its basically a cheap insurance. I would rather have it and not really need the use for it than not have it and hydrolock my engine. The main reason I got it though is for the dusty trails around here, with the...

    Snorkel

Hello all overland bound member. I recently installed a snorkel on my 2006 Toyota Tundra! Over the past few days of traveling around my town and local towns I have been asked about 5-7 times what it is used for and how I have/use it. This is a great conversation starter but not just that it's a...

    Map books or gps system

Cool I'm going to look into all those options. I usually use a garmin GPS while getting to the destination than my handheld to get me around. But I figured maybe there is more detailed backcountry maps out there and it looks like there are by what you guys are saying. Thanks a lot!!
