    March 2022 cape lookout

Interested, but March is pretty full for work. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

US Southeast Planning our first trip

Sorry to hear. Uwharrie is a lot of fun. There is dispersed camping along the gravel forest roads. I have done pretty much all the trails - except the front of Daniel and Dickey Bell - in my stock Gladiator Willys. Definitely planning on getting another season pass in April when it reopens...

US Southeast Planning our first trip

@NJRadioGuy Hey, I just bumped in to this thread. I'm a NJ ex-pat living outside Charlotte, NC. I wanted to see if you made it to NC in October? I'm heading back to NJ in June and looking to make an overland route back south (probably about 5 days to travel from North Jersey to North Carolina).

EYE SAFETY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PPE

Ear plugs PLEASE! I can attest to how much tinnitus SUX. No fun to try going to sleep in a silent campsite with constant ringing and ticking sounds you can’t get rid of.

    First aid training.

In college (2000) I took Wilderness First Aid (2 day class) and Wilderness First Responder (5 day class) through a company called SOLO. I was just looking yesterday into getting WFA again. It’s about $250 and there are monthly classes in NC and SC. They are classroom and hands on classes geared...

    AM/FM Antenna Relocate

Here in the Charlotte, NC area we have NO good radio stations! So I rarely use the factory AM/FM radio. I would like to relocate the antenna but I don’t want to completely remove it. My idea is to relocate it to under the Gladiator hood, along the firewall. I have found YouTube videos on...

    Gladiator for next build

@samba Check out jeepgladiatorforum.com There are lots of threads to check out. I have learned a lot about the different trim levels, options, common issues people are finding or helping each other work out unique solutions for. It’s pretty cool - like the OB community. There are even buy -...

FOR SALE Jeep Gladiator Hi Lift Jack Mount

Have 1 and love it! I used 7/8” strut mounted to the bed and replaced the supplied nuts with spring nuts. Very easy to access.

    Gladiator for next build

I have a 2021 Gladiator Willys. I have done some off-roading at Uwharrie NF in NC. It does ok on rocks, but belly rubs with the long wheel base. This is my first off-road capable vehicle, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. As for back seat useable space, my 7 year old’s car seat sits in...

Sleeping Pads What do you use? Looking....

I would agree with @El-Dracho. The therm-a-rest is good in most conditions. The down side to the self inflating materials is they usually are made of open-cell foam. Using a closed-cell foam mattress under the self inflating mattress will add insulation from the ground and additional padding. I...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

They are actually the stock Firestone Destination MT2. Never had a traction problem in mud.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

We had 12 hours of freezing rain and sleet Sunday. So I aired down my tires to 30psi, put it into 4Hi and drove to the store to get some ice melt for the driveway.

    Cancelled wawa and rigs

I’m heading up that way from NC in June. Maybe I can meetup then. I’m working on getting a Rigs & Coffee started here in Charlotte. Good luck!
