    Grand Canyon.....

The Ouray area (in SW CO, US WHY 550 goes right though it) is probably the best place to go in CO for the highest density of beautiful trails that can easily be done in an overland style rig. But most of those trails will be closed by mid September. August typically sees quite a few rainy days...

    Mt. Antero and Browns Lake

Every year I think about doing this trail, but I never do. I need to make a point of doing it sometime soon. Thanks for sharing the nice photos.

    Photography trip to the VLA

Thank you. It is a cool place to check out. There is not much else around it to do though, so you'd need to really be into the VLA to make a trip out of it. You could do a "space" trip from east to west hitting Roswell NM, the VLA and the meteor crater just outside Flagstaff AZ. There are...

    Photography trip to the VLA

I recently had the opportunity to drive down to New Mexico in the middle of the week to check out the Very Large Array (VLA). Some of you might remember seeing the VLA in movie Contact staring Jodi Foster. For those of you that do not know what the VLA is, here is the description from the...

    Halfmoon Creek, Colorado

Nice little trip. I've been up in that area quite a bit, but never ran that one. I'll have to put it on my list, thanks for sharing it.

    San Lorenzo Canyon, NM conditions?

I'm looking at sort of an impromptu trip down into NM next week and was thinking about camping in the San Lorenzo Canyon either Tuesday or Wednesday night. Has anyone been down there recently or know what the conditons are? Are you still able to camp (I'll be in my Jeep with the RTT) down in...

    87 Hours, 6 National Parks

That does look like a very fun "recon" trip. I need to make the effort to hit some of those with my little guy.

    Looks like a fun trip.

    White Rim Favorite Campsites

That's my understanding of it. Each day you grab the now newly available date in the future and then pay for them all as a single trip.

    White Rim Favorite Campsites

Any suggestions for were to stay if I was going to run this clockwise and spend 3 nights there? Is that going to be too long of a time if we do not get out and do a ton of hiking (we both like to take pictures, so that could slow things down lol)

    Three Generations in Death Valley.

Thanks. It was a great trip. I'm trying to plan another trip for the three of us for late summer, I'm thinking maybe Montana this time.

So did any of your guys do the 2018 trips through MT that you were planning?

Scenic/Cool mountain "jeep" trail/roads near Pueblo, CO

Not rough at all. There is one rocky-ish section towards the start, but it is larger slick rock style... no real boulders or anything like that. There are a few "creek" crossings that might amount to puddles this year.

San Juan NF closed due to fire

Just a heads up for anyone planning on a trip to the south west portion of CO that the San Juan NF is closed. This has been posted in couple of other threads, but I wanted to get a broader announcement out there for everyone.

Scenic/Cool mountain "jeep" trail/roads near Pueblo, CO

It is okay for fall colors, but there are a lot better trails for that. If you are in that area, Hermit Rd is pretty good for fall colors and is full size friendly. I air down just for comfort, but you don't need to for traction. There are some pretty nice small mountain lakes just off that...
