I've heard you have to do a long press of the TC button. This is almost exactly what happened to me when I accidentally left TC on after going through a deep ice/mud puddle - as if I left the car in neutral. I had to double back through this puddle because the trail wasn't actually a trail, and...
Perhaps I'll reconsider these. The weight and tread design is really attractive. I see they have a 45k projected treadlife warranty, but 55k mile guarantee, which is pretty good, I think?
Well, I still haven't bought my summer/AT tires... But I've narrowed it down the existing choices a bit further, as well as found some new options along the way :P
Basically, I want 235/65/17 or 245/65/17; something between 29" and 29.5". I want something that isn't heavy (e.g. KO2), wears...
If anyone was up for a trail run after a rigs and coffee in Eastern Ontario... the Ottawa Valley route is a favourite of mine, and not far from some good routes in Western Quebec!
Welcome @Tacotoya !
Speaking of meets... I noticed in the OverlandNTH Facebook group that a few members were thinking of a run up to Attiwapiskat - Wetum Ice Road and such?
Would anyone here be interested? I know I would be, as long as I could make it work with school. Last I checked, the plan...
@acl20 I'm thinking $38,500 CAD. Not sure what that is in USD - about $28,900?
Here's another photo of the interior:
...and the spare tire carrier, (prior to actually mounting the tire) but you get an idea of what it'd looks like:
It's my understanding that the ADF kit is the only one with more lift in the rear, to account of the "saggy bum" that some (most?) Subarus experience. There's one kit out there - Readylift perhaps - which has more lift in the front than it does the rear. Kind of weird, but just keep that in...
I use the Falken wildpeak AT3W for my winter/offroad tire on my SJ XT Subaru Forester. I like it a lot, and do commute frequently with this vehicle. It's got a more aggressive tread than a lot of AT tires, not as much as the KO2 though. A good balance, IMO. Obviously...
That's the one! First camera I ever bought. I decided shortly thereafter I didn't like studio photography... and that's not the most portable camera. Bought and sold my way through a few and somehow went full circle... Nowadays everything is shot on a Linhof V, a Rollei, or a small Sony digital...
This has been a really interesting thread to lurk. Heated at times, but always civil. I appreciate that.
I'm not a liberal, nor am I conservative, but I am a Canadian... Not that that's a political identity, but it does mean I have quite a few more gun restrictions compared to my...
Looks great - Love that orange colour and the rack is very clean. Tundras are fantastic trucks. I learned to drive on a Sequoia (same truck, different body, I think)?
Thanks guys! It was one of my first major projects after getting back into welding. Stick was a little cumbersome for the smaller parts... but now I have a good excuse to learn TIG if I do a front bumper too.
Wrapped up my bumper/hitch/tire carrier build for the Subie... all that's left is to get the other tire on there!
Really happy how this turned out. Got a spot for the spare on the right, and room for tools, bikes, firewood, whatever; on the left.
But still, not THAT far from a stock Subaru! It's got a couple lockers, but anyone with a bit of commitment should have no trouble building a similar rig!
Thank you!
The left swing out will be a multi-use sort of thing; I have bolt holes so I can attach various stuff, including jerry can holders, a bicycle, gardening tools (We turn disused land into community food gardens)... So pretty much anything. I like the versatility!
Heck, maybe I'll even...
