If you are not crawling rock to rock, your not off roading .... That is the opinion of the people over at Way of Life! They really hate any one who Overland's and doesn't build their Jeep to Crawl over house size rocks. I got called out when I disagreed with them....
Try to go out with "Back-up", as in not alone. You will find each vehicle has different requirements as in parts that fail. Find someone that has a like vehicle and learn from them. A little preventive maintenance helps, I swap out your hoses, and carry the old ones with you, it has gotten me...
My wife complains our Lab snores more than me and makes us sleep in the tent, and she sleeps in the Jeep with earphones on, and says bears would run away from the two of us!!!
You can see the parades on the LF website, just pick a year but the last two, no parade, the guy who runs the Jeep group lives there too and would love to have you folks enter your CJ7 in the group!

Do you go to the Lake Forest 4th of July parade? You would see the group of Jeeps we run in the parade....Plus I put in 20 years at the Edison Yard there at Bake and Irvine...

Our group hunts mainly the California Valley Quail, so when we took one of the guys with us on a Pheasant Hunt, he was so use to the jogging birds that when the first Pheasant jumped up he blasted the poor bird only 10 feet out.
And had instant Pheasant burger ,,,I wave my metal detector over it...
Since working at a Steam Gen Plant, Aerokroll works great, and if you need to loosen a rusted nut/bolt ,this stuff works wonders. We found out about it to get stuck exhaust bolt out of the heads, or exhaust parts that salt water welded together...PS. they have a baby power sent now, funny...
Being a Navy Brat and living all over, Spam was the thing that you dress up to feed a family of five on the cheap and to make it last till the next payday...I am sure my mom could make a single can strech for the whole family and that went with canned tuna and Chicken or what ever we could get...
We tried a new one , a cheese and Spam salad Quesada, Spam Salad {Spam mixed with Mayo, cheese both jack and extra sharp and seasoned to taste} grilled then put on a heated tortilla with melted cheese then assembled, cut and served. Quite good!
Out here in the West Toyo's are the most liked, but I have the KO2s and really like them so far, my buddy has the Disos, and he loves them and they are holding up very well. The only problem has been the Goodyears that one guy has, a lot of sidewall punctures, I don't know what that means but...
