Thanks for fixing that. I was just looking and still didn't see the "show on map" button, although when I try to access the map it seems to lock up Firefox, so maybe part of the page isn't loading. Everything else on the site works great, but the map doesn't seem to want to load.
Like others have pointed out, my plan is to stay put as long as possible. Buuuttt, if I had to leave for some reason then absolutely. I built the truck to live out of for an extended period of time. TEOTWAWKI happens, I'm driving my happy butt into the middle of one of the national forests...
Kurt seems to be everywhere lol. He does a lot of posting on EP too. It's pretty nice to be able to actually talk to one of the guys involved and be able to pick his brain.
*edited to add that I can't wait for this new season. This trip gets back to what I enjoyed about the first couple...
It's just like this place, but seems to be more established. I've been over there for a few years and they have some folks putting up trip reports that span years. It's a very good resource.

I made a thread exactly like this on Expeditionportal not to long ago. I ended up with the Jetboil and have been really happy with it. They had a bunch of other options too, but the Jetboil one...
These guys had a big hand in me getting as serious as I have into overland travel. I agree that some stuff seems forced at times, but that's the game when you have sponsors. I think the cinematography is great, and I like Clay doing the narrating. Over time he has developed his cadence and...
After using cheap folding chairs for a long, long time, I finally bit the bullet and got myself some ARB camp chairs. They pack up huge, which is kind of a pain, but man are they comfy. Much more solid than my old chairs, and they have cup/cell phone holders built in which I really like. They...
I'm in Minneola. I go out as much as possible, mostly to Citrus, but I like going out to Hardrock once in a while. ONF can be fun, but I have a hard time getting through a lot of the trails without nasty stripes because of how thin they are, and I try to avoid destroying the paint if possible...
So I've been reading about these darn Luminoodles on different forums for a couple weeks now so I went on Amazon to see what all the fuss is about. They're awesome! They pack up really small and are really bright. I'm curious how long the battery pack will last, but it's LEDs so I figure...
2008 FJ I purchased in 2011. I meant to keep it relatively stock, maybe a leveling kit and some tires, fog lights, that sort of thing. I got to watching Expedition Overland and things got out of control like they normally do with me and vehicles lol. My build page can be found on Expo Portal...
I ran a pair of Black Diamond Voyager lanterns on my last trip and they were fantastic. For small lights they put out great light. I hung one under my RTT, and one under the awning on the other side of the truck and they were more than enough to light the camp. Bonus was they have a...
For most of my trip to Colorado and back it rained. The way back it rained a lot. In high winds and rain I never had an issue. Like others, my truck rocked sometimes from the wind, but it was never a problem.
I actually found it to be an advantage, especially on my last stop on the way...
Is anyone on here going to the Expo? I've never been to one and this seems like a good time. My wife and I will be taking as many classes as we can while there. If you've been, can you make any recommendations as to classes to take, and what is in the area to check out?
I'm traveling from...
I just saw this on Facebook. I'm meeting up with Joel from XVenture on the 6th for a day of wheeling in Citrus. I'm not sure if this is the same meet as the OB meet or not. I'm always down for a day of trail running and some camping so I'll check in when I can to see if somethings happening.
I started building my FJ for overlanding almost by accident. When I started my career as an LEO I decided it would be a good idea to sell my sports car and get something a little slower, and more usable, so in came the FJ. I intended to keep it mostly stock, but coming from a show car...
