I just upgraded from an old Google Nexus to a Samsung Tab A in my LJ. Although I'm not 100% happy with the solution, This does work okay for now.
The thing I don't like is that my AC vents (which blow a little bit of hot air when the defrost is on) are blowing right on the back of the tablet...
My dad was a home builder for almost 35 years so woodworking is kind of in my blood but furniture and cabinets are new to me. I’ve been fortunate over the years to find some good tools for a good price. Most of this was done with a good table saw and a circular saw with a new blade. I also used...
I was driving around at lunch and I have a new squeak so I’ll probably have to pull it out and do some sanding on the top and bottom edges. I may have it too snug against the walls of the wheel wells.
Thanks! It was a ton of fun. I did a bunch of research and decided to go with that type of joint for simplicity and strength. I made a number of test pieces before I got it really figured out.
I needed to get the bulk of our recovery gear safely stored down low and provide a place for our dog to ride when we’re on the road. As with anything, it will evolve as we use it but this is a start. Here’s what I came up with and the build along the way. Please note, I’m just learning how to do...
Finally done with the basics. Now it’s time to get the interior kit worked out. We have a Jeep rally coming up in a couple weeks that will give us some time “living” out of it.
Next I plan to build a simple 2 drawer platform for the back but that’s probably a winter project. I need to...
Lift install completed! Drives pretty decent for needing an alignment real bad. I’ll take some pictures once I get done doing a rough toe-in adjustment and get everything torqued down properly. I’m going to order the wheels tomorrow morning. Does anyone know any discount codes for Quadratec? :)
A little bummed. In true Jeep fashion, I broke three of the four upper rear shock mount bolts. This job just got a bit more complex. Gas tank is now out and I now have to find a way to cut the welded nuts off the frame so I can put new nuts and bolts in.
Made some great progress tonight with the help of some friends.
Old vs. new springs.
In the middle of the mayhem.
Front is done except for final torque and setting the track bar length.
Left and right closeups.
Rear differential also looks good.
Starting the activities now. First is a differential service up front. All looks good.
Next is the suspension disassembly which I started this afternoon.
Received a nice big box of OME springs, shocks, and a steering stabilizer today! Just waiting on the front springs from another source that should arrive tomorrow.
Soon the wrenching fun can really begin!
I'm currently loading it up for a Search and Rescue training overnighter this weekend. This is my first chance to load it similarly to how we will when go on the road.
OME / JKS suspension lift is coming soon.
Also, I just received my KC C3 Amber 3" cubes today so those will be going into the...
Thanks! The hood latches are the Rugged Ridge brand that I picked up from Amazon. We drove 2100 miles from DFW Texas to Portland Oregon over 4 days when we bought the LJ. Listening to the hood squeak and flutter for that many miles in high wind was obnoxious! The have completely solved the...
