Took off the rear bumper today, getting ready to sleeve the rear frame rails so I can remove the stock tow hitch and add in my old hide a hitch at the same depth but in between the rails raising it up almost 7 inches for more rear clearance this way I’m not dragging the swing out tire carrier...

I don’t think I added much when you think about what I removed center and 3rd row seats, seat belts and interior trim in the rear. Total weight of wood, carpet and screws maybe 250/300lbs should be close to even.. when I have a chance I’ll be weighing the seats to see what came out
LOL I resemble that remark [emoji15][emoji15] my Yukon xl is setup with a storage / sleep platform inside and I use a ground tent, I wanted a RTT but decided there would be times I want to roam and not have to brake down camp just to go on a trail and return
I wish I could but I’m working Saturday’s again this September and October so I won’t be back out till December unless it’s to go out on the trail then I may cough cough LOL. Want to make up something for my Yukon

to keep my dogs from jumping out since they are now just 6 inches or so from the base of the window since I built my sleeping / storage platform.

That’s the million dollar question lol, they were press fitted and staying in but need to secure them in place, at this moment I’m going to use some washers to over lap and screw to the door frame, I’d really like to make a trim panel may weld up something at work once I see how this functions
It’s a 18ga mesh from OSH 24x30 this one is coated in a light black coating & doesn’t have sharp edges on the either face much safer for the my pups noses, I used a cutting wheel, instead of sheers that had caused the coating to come off so I just touched it up with rattle can black lol may...
